AMC’s third Immortal Universe spinoff, The Talamasca, has found its second cast member. The series will be based on the works of Anne Rice, the author of Interview with the Vampire and Lives of the Mayfair Witches. AMC has already adapted two of Rice’s books into shows that have seen critical and commercial success, which has led to the development of The Talamasca. The Talamasca is an order of supernaturally gifted detectives who keep the paranormal from humanity. The show has already found its lead actor in Nicholas Denton.

Now, AMC’s The Talamasca has found its second cast member, reports Variety. Veteran actor William Fichtner has officially ed the cast of the Immortal Universe spinoff, set to play a character named Jasper, who is described as “a mysterious American who has quietly assumed control and influence over the Talamasca’s London Motherhouse. Though his motives and methods are cloaked in shadow, his charm and righteous sense of purpose are as dangerous as the power he’s pursuing.”

Fichtner Can Lend The Series Extra Weight

Fichtner is a seasoned artist, with a career spanning nearly 40 years, and he’s no stranger to critical and commercial hits, starring in films like Armageddon, Black Hawk Down, Crash, Heat, and The Dark Knight. He’s also made a name for himself in TV shows like Entourage and Prison Break. His addition to The Talamasca is overall good news, as the veteran will serve as an inspiring figure among greener cast and lend his experience to the series.

What Will Jasper’s Role In The Talamasca Be?

There’s still little known about the AMC series, which was officially greenlit this year and is expected to premiere in 2025. However, the two shows already present in the Immortal Universe can offer some hints about the new project, as The Talamasca is featured in them. This is especially true for Mayfair Witches, where a Talamasca agent, Ciprien Grieves, appears. Fichtner might be another agent from the order.

Fichtner’s Jasper can be the spark to this fire, as a mentor who shows him the ropes or a lead figure in The Talamasca.

Given Fichtner’s experience, he may play a pivotal role, possibly a mentor figure to Denton’s Guy Anatole. Guy is described as a brilliant, handsome law student who is recruited to the secret order, where he’ll have to embrace the dark side of his psyche. Fichtner’s Jasper can be the spark to this fire as a mentor who shows him the ropes, or as a lead figure in The Talamasca. On the other hand, perhaps Fichtner’s role in The Talamasca is small, like his role in The Dark Knight. However, this is less likely considering how he ed the project early.

The Talamasca is expected to begin filming next month.
