The Hateful Eight star Walton Goggins to the cast.
Peyton Reed's sequel to Ant-Man's origin story film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been racking up talented actors over the past couple of weeks. Alongside Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lily and Michael Douglas, the film has added Fresh Off the Boat's Randall Park comic-book character Dr. Bill Foster. The film has now also added a capable and extremely talented character actor to the mix.
According to Avengers: Infinity War and will feature Lily's Janet Van Dyne following in the footsteps of her mother and finally becoming super heroine the Wasp.
With little left to do beyond speculate upon his role in the film, it should be noted that Goggins certainly has the face to play a comic-book character, particularly a villain of some sorts. Goggins has experience playing antagonists in film and TV, terrifying audiences with his intensity in projects like The Shield, Justified, Django Unchained, and Sons of Anarchy. He's also shown a great amount of range in the past, working on prestige pictures like Lincoln and The Hateful Eight to blockbuster schlock like G.I. Joe: Retaliation and Cowboys & Aliens. He's even shown a strong hand at comedy starring alongside Danny McBride in HBO's Vice Principals, which will return for a second season this fall.
Goggins will have a big 2018 when it comes to appearances in blockbusters. Ant-Man & the Wasp will be released in July, but he's booked roles in two major films before that time. In February, Goggins appears inTomb Raider series.
