A special look at Avengers: Secret Wars.
Set after the events of Cassie (Kathryn Newton), going on an unexpected trip into the Quantum Realm. Once there, secrets about the Quantum Realm and Janet will be revealed, and they will come face to face with Kang the Conqueror (Jonathan Majors), the time-traveling, multiversal villain that will create chaos in the rest of the Multiverse Saga. Of course, there are already many theories on what could happen in Ant-Man 3, especially the death of Ant-Man, and the latest trailer fueled this by focusing on Ant-Man’s MCU journey.
Why Ant-Man Might Die In Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantumania
The Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania trailer shown at Brazil Comic Con is mostly a look at Ant-Man’s journey in the MCU so far – from his first movie to his role in the Time Heist and the Battle of Earth in Avengers: Endgame. In the final seconds of the trailer, there’s a voice-over narration of Kang telling Scott that he knows how his reality ends, and in the teaser shown at San Diego Comic-Con 2022, Kang asked Scott if he had killed him before. All this has further fueled the theories about Ant-Man 3 being Scott Lang’s final MCU adventure, and it makes sense that his time might be coming to an end very soon.
Scott Lang went from thief to hero in little time, and he has done his best to be present for his daughter and be a better person, father, and hero. After the Time Heist, the Battle of Earth, and the events of Ant-Man 3, where he will fight alongside Cassie, he will have fulfilled the goal of being a hero in his daughter’s eyes, and he will be ing the torch to her. Cassie Lang famously became Stature and one of the Young Avengers in the comics, and the MCU has been teasing this team of young heroes for a while – and if Ant-Man dies, Cassie would have an even bigger motivation to become a superhero and carry on her father’s legacy. Of course, Ant-Man’s death would further establish how huge a threat Kang is, showing the rest of the MCU that he won’t be an easy enemy to defeat.
What Ant-Man's Death Would Mean For The MCU
Ant-Man’s death in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania would make the battle against Kang more personal for the rest of the MCU’s heroes, as they would also be avenging the death of one of their own. Ant-Man, Wasp, Cassie, Hank, and Janet are also the first of the current MCU heroes to face Kang the Conqueror, so killing Scott Lang not only shows how powerful Kang is but also that his plans are advancing rapidly. Kang is being described as a time-traveling, multiversal adversary who is trapped in the Quantum Realm, so getting rid of Ant-Man could give Kang a way out of the Quantum Realm, expanding and making way for the massive multiverse chaos that will be the core of the two Avengers movies.
