Although viewers might be most excited to explore the quantum realm or see the full might of Kang the Conqueror, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania first has to overcome some hurdles, such as Scott Lang himself. Scott Lang will be making his first appearance in the MCU since Avengers: Endgame, where he played a significant role in setting up the time heist that brought half of the universe's population back. However, just because Scott Lang has not physically appeared on-screen doesn't mean that there have not been updates on his whereabouts and activities in the MCU.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania's biggest task is explaining the teases in the MCU that Scott Lang is now a superhero celebrity who has been making public statements about the Avengers and living a completely different life after the events of Avengers: Endgame. If Scott really is a celebrity now, it could bring many changes to his character and relationships with his daughter, Cassie, and his partner, Hope van Dyne. If Scott's celebrity status has gone to his head and affected his family relationships, it could lead to Scott Lang making MCU-altering actions when facing off with Kang the Conqueror.

How Phase 4 Suggests The MCU Ant-Man Has Changed

Why Is Ant-Man In Rogers The Musical

Hawkeye included a scene of Clint Barton and his family attending a play about Steve Rogers, which included a scene of the original six Avengers plus Ant-Man fighting in the Battle of New York. Ant-Man's inclusion in the play shows his growing popularity as a celebrity at the very least but may also be hinting that Scott is taking liberties with the Avengers stories that he is sharing with the public. Ant-Man was referenced frequently throughout Ms. Marvel, and may be appearing on podcasts and interviews altering some of the stories about the Avengers to include himself. Ms. Marvel revealed that Scott has been sharing details about the final battle with Thanos, and he could be embellishing the facts. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania could feature a very self-absorbed Ant-Man who has an inflated sense of ego from his celebrity status and the embellished stories that he's telling.

How Ant-Man's Celebrity Status Can Affect His MCU Future

Ant-Man and Kang the Conqueror

Scott's newfound celebrity status could have negative ramifications for himself and the wider MCU. If Scott is spreading inaccurate information about the Avengers for his own gain, it could lead to division and distrust among the public. His story's details may not line up with other s, leading everyone to have their own perceptions of the Snap and the battle with Thanos. Misinformation spreading to the public has already caused problems in the MCU when Mysterio turned the public on Spider-Man, leading people to believe that he was a murderer and a villain. As for Scott himself, his private life will be completely shattered as a celebrity hero. Any desire for a quiet life with Cassie and Hope would be gone. On top of this, an inflated ego could lead to Scott massively underestimating Kang the Conqueror as a threat. Starting to believe his own stories of his heroism, Scott might think that he can handle Kang on his own, which could lead to his demise.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania does not need to explain the quantum realm, the multiverse, or even Kang the Conqueror, but it needs to explain what Scott has been doing since Avengers: Endgame and how his character has changed in that time. Scott's celebrity status can certainly impact his story and his relationships with Cassie and Hope in this film. Scott Lang might find himself all alone squaring off with Kang the Conqueror.
