Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania continues to improve on Tony Stark's heroic sacrifice during the final battle of Avengers: Endgame. Even years after the Battle of Earth, Iron Man's decision to sacrifice his own life in order to save the entire world still carries throughout every film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including the Ant-Man sequel. Now, as Kang the Conqueror, the franchise's next Big Bad, gets ready to enter the scene in Quantumania, Tony's selfless act takes on an entirely new meaning in the lives and choices of those he sacrificed himself to protect, including those of Scott and Cassie Lang.

Quantumania is set to introduce Kang the Conqueror, played by Jonathan Majors, to the MCU in anticipation of his role as the main villain of the Multiverse Saga, including in titles like Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars. In his confrontation with Ant-Man during the events of Quantumania, Kang offers the Avengers an interesting deal only hinted at in the film's trailers. It would seem that Scott has the ability to regain the time he lost with his daughter Cassie during the Blip if he helps Kang regain something that was stolen from him, leading the character to make a complicated, and perhaps very destructive, choice.

Ant-Man's Cassie Choice Shows Just How Incredible Iron Man's Sacrifice Was

Quantumania's story will deal heavily with Cassie Lang, who is now portrayed by Katheryn Newton, and her relationship with her father, which leads to Kang offering Scott the chance to get back the many years he lost between his prison sentence and the Blip. Scott's choice, which is evidently to work with Kang at first, makes Tony's decision in Endgame all the more astounding, as he sacrificed the many future years that he would have had with his daughter Morgan so that countless other families could share a future together. In securing the galaxy's future, Tony was forced to sacrifice his own.

In sacrificing his own life in Endgame, Tony fixed many of his past mistakes, redeeming himself for everything he had ever done wrong in the most selfless way possible, even if it meant missing out on his daughter's entire life. In Quantumania, the thought of missing out on Cassie's life proves to be painful enough to cause Scott to ally himself with Kang the Conqueror himself. While anyone can understand Scott's desire to watch his daughter grow up, the fact that this was Ant-Man's breaking point makes Tony's sacrifice in Endgame all the more heroic, proving Iron Man to still be one of the strongest Avengers.

Will Ant-Man Die In Quantumania Like Iron Man In Endgame?

Given that the Phase 5 film is being marketed as a can't-miss occasion, it seems likely that Ant-Man will die in Quantumania, likely at the hands of Kang the Conqueror. One of the final shots of the latest trailer includes Scott grappling with the supervillain, claiming that, although he can't win, he can make sure that they both lose. This moment heavily implies that, although Scott will initially accept Kang's deal, he may end up heroically sacrificing himself to stop the conquering supervillain in much the same way that Tony Stark had demonstrated in the fight against the Mad Titan Thanos in Endgame.

If Ant-Man does indeed perish during the events of Quantumania, there is no better way for the hero to go out than by sacrificing himself for his daughter. Although he hasn't always been present in Cassie's life, he can at least make sure that she lives to see another day. Scott's death at the hands of Infinity War moment, as the MCU's next big bad kills off a fan-favorite character to demonstrate just how much of a threat he will pose to the Avengers. Tragically, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania may indeed see Scott sacrifice himself in much the same way Tony once did.
