The announcement trailer lacked any footage of Armored Core 6's gameplay, but it had no shortage of beautiful and catastrophic natural disasters, giant mechs, and even larger explosions. Since the last game in the series releasing back on the PlayStation 3 in 2013, many fans had been hoping that after Elden Ring, FromSoftware would return to Armored Core. Expectations have been on the rise since consumer surveys leaked early gameplay footage of a new Armored Core game being developed, and these leaks have now been vindicated.

The Armored Core series is known for fast-paced 3D combat that has held up well over the years, in spite of its long absence from modern consoles. Previous games have allowed players to build their own mechs, and have offered an impressive level of customization. With modern technology and the years of experience the developer has gained while crafting games like Sekiro and Elden Ring, AC6's gameplay, customization, and visuals will likely impress old and new players.

The development team at FromSoftware created an impressive library of Soulsborne games in the nine years since the last Armored Core game was released. These games have become highly regarded, with consistent and tight action-RPG gameplay that will likely play a significant part in the AC series' soft reboot. Regardless of how different Armored Core 6: Fires Of Rubicon is from the series' predecessors, FromSoftware has proven itself to have considerable skill in video game development, which will likely be used to full effect on the new game.
