With everything that's happened in just a few short months, the CW's all Arrowverse shows will remain on break until 2021.

To say 2019-2020 was an eventful year for the Arrowverse would be putting it mildly. The biggest story of the season was of course "Crisis on Infinite Earths," the five-part crossover event that encomed all Arrowverse shows, included a incorporated characters from past DC TV shows and movies. Most importantly, it rebooted the multiverse, made changes to Arrowverse canon, and put all the heroes on the same Earth, meaning Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) doesn't have to cross universes to team-up with Barry Allen (Grant Gustin).

The effects of "Crisis on Infinite Earths" have already been deeply felt in the Arrowverse, as all the current shows have had to spend at least half a season in post-Crisis mode. By now, the characters have adjusted to the way things are. But, "Crisis" isn't the only thing that's brought change to the Arrowverse. There were also a few unplanned and unexpected decisions made as well. Major characters exiting the Arrowverse, game-changing twists, and brand new shows will make the Arrowverse look drastically different when it starts up again. Here's every way the Arrowverse will be different in 2021.

Arrowverse Episode Counts and Season Schedules

Supergirl Season 5

Having all their seasons moved to 2021 will obviously have an impact on episode counts and scheduling. Due to coronavirus, this situation is expected and unavoidable. CW president Mark Pedowitz said some shows may be limited to 13 episodes, while others will still have full seasons (despite not being on the air at all during the fall). That means the shows with full 22-episode seasons are unlikely to have any breaks, and could get two-hour season finales. The CW hasn't revealed which shows will receive 13-episode seasons, or if any of them will be in the Arrowverse.

Arrowverse Will Have A New Batwoman

Batwoman

Easily the biggest surprise from the Arrowverse since Ezra Miller appeared as the Flash in "Crisis" was the news that So with a new lead character, Batwoman will almost feel like a new show when it enters its second season.

Arrowverse Will Have A Much Smaller Crossover

Viewers have grown accustomed to big annual crossovers, but the 2021 season will be a massive departure from that trend. Not every event has made use of all the shows, but they have included most of them. Even so, an exception will be made for the next event, as it will only be a Supergirl won't be getting their own episodes in the event, but characters from their shows will appear. No specific heroes have been confirmed as of yet. Arrowverse crossovers usually happen in the beginning of December, but that won't be happening this time since the seasons are expected to run between January and May.

McKnight too has been upped to series regular. Sue Dearbon being framed for murder could keep her around as well (if she isn't written off the show with Ralph Dibney).

The Waverider lost one of its original crew when Ava Sharpe (Jess Macallan) has taken over as team leader. For Legends of Tomorrow more so than the other shows, radical changes to the team roster aren't so surprising, since that's been the nature of the series from the very beginning.
