Despite the John Diggle getting a ring sent to him, the Easter eggs have been non-stop. This has understandably raised a lot of questions by fans whether or not The CW would ever bring any of the famous Green Lanterns to the Arrowverse. But as the franchise has evolved and introduced other iconic characters, none of those references have paid off, yet.
It has always seemed like that the in-development Crisis on Infinite Earths. Naturally, it would seem better if The CW shows somehow got to do something with the Green Lantern as they have teased that mythology for so many seasons. But how well would a Green Lantern payoff have been for the Arrowverse in the long run?

The other shows already have pretty large casts, which doesn't leave much space in the budget for something as big as Green Lantern to enter the picture. If there's something the Arrowverse is known for, it's to always reward loyal viewers whenever it comes to DC Easter eggs.
But in Green Lantern's case, it's actually a good thing that none of The CW shows came full circle with the references and nods. The Green Lantern saga has been one of DC Comics' longest and most beloved properties for decades, featuring multiple characters carrying the title. Following the disaster that was the 2011 film, it's understandable how and why Warner Bros. has been careful with how to properly do Doom Patrol have already shown that these characters wouldn't fit on a broadcast network, due to the higher production demands as well as the increased adult tone in the writing.
With the HBO Max series, the Green Lanterns will finally have the spotlight they have always deserved. With an impressive line-up featuring Arrow co-creators Greg Berlanti and Marc Guggenheim will at least lead to a crossover of some kind between Green Lantern and the rest of the Arrowverse down the line.
