Players now have the chance to see a preview of what multiplayer is going to look like on announcement was made last October that the game had to be pushed back to an unknown date in 2021. For now, all we know is that The Ascent is slated to launch sometime later this year.
The explosive shooter is being developed through a collaboration between publisher Curve Digital and developer Neon Giant. Players will assume the role of an indentured worker thrown into a chaotic world that is on the verge of collapse. One catastrophic event after another unfolds, prompting the protagonist to uncover the mystery of what started the breakdown. Players will be tasked with fighting their way through hordes of rival corporations and crime organizations vying for control of the metropolis too.
Plenty of walkthrough and gameplay videos for The Ascent have launched before. However, a brand-new multiplayer trailer has just released, offering fans another glimpse into what kind of combat they can expect to find. The trailer was posted on Curve Digital's YouTube channel. The footage shows how the game can be played either solo or as a four-player co-op. The game will offer local and online co-op as well. The multiplayer trailer has only enhanced the futuristic RPG's association with the classic game Diablo. The trailer features gorgeous, cinematic cutscenes that help to clarify the plot. There is also plenty of gameplay on display. The combat looks quick and engaging across a variety of outdoor and indoor environments.
The Ascent has attracted plenty of irers so far in its development. Its heavy emphasis on a looting system has inevitably drawn comparisons with Diablo. Plans are already in place for The Ascent to be available on the Xbox Game at launch. The game will also feature 4K for the Xbox Series X.
There is a palpable interest in The Ascent and it does not look like it is going away anytime soon. Its fast-paced combat, emphasis on looting and intriguing setting is drawing players in as they eagerly await news of a release date. Perhaps that is the next big announcement on the agenda.
The Ascent is set to release in 2021 on the Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC via Steam and Xbox Game for PC.
