If you're looking to dive into the Assassin's Creed games after finally finishing up Assassin's Creed Shadows, or if you're simply interested in diving into the franchise head first, there's a huge collection of Assassin's Creed games available on PlayStation Plus right now. From some of the most beloved games in the franchise to some somewhat unknown installments, there are plenty of Assassin's Creed games to keep you busy for a while.
The Assassin's Creed games available on PlayStation Plus are part of the Ubisoft+ Classics games that you can access either as a standalone subscription through Ubisoft or as part of a PS Plus Extra or hip. These range from games such as the lesser known side-scroller AC Chronicles games to beloved classics like Assassin's Creed III and Black Flag. Whether your new to the franchise or a devout fan, you'll want to check out what PS Plus has to offer.
11 Assassin's Creed Chronicles Collection
PS Plus Includes All Three Side-Scrollers, Set In China, India, & Russia
The Assassin's Creed Chronicles games are a unique set of entries in the franchise, taking a completely different approach to the core mechanics and style of gameplay. There are three total Chronicles entries: India, Russia, and China. These games introduce new protagonists and locations that aren't featured in any of the other games, but ultimately the gameplay just doesn't compare to the originals.

Known Insider Offers Updates On Next AC Games, Including Rumored Assassin's Creed Black Flag Remake
Though based on speculation, these updates shed light on Ubisoft's plans for the future after Assassin's Creed Shadows' success earlier in March.
That said, these games are pretty good for what they're trying to accomplish as side-scrollers, and if you're interested in experiencing more of the larger Assassin's Creed universe from a different perspective, they're pretty fun to play. Ultimately, I wouldn't recommend these as your first Assassin's Creed games, but hardcore fans of the franchise should give them a shot.
10 Assassin's Creed Rogue Remastered
Play The Role Of A Templar In AC Rogue
Assassin's Creed Rogue follows Shay Cormac, a former Assassin turned Templar during the Seven Years’ War. After questioning the Brotherhood's methods, Shay defects and hunts down his former allies, offering a unique twist on the classic formula. The game’s story stands out for its moral complexity and slightly darker tone, and for flipping the typical Assassin narrative. The Arctic and North American frontier settings are also unique.
The game faced criticism for recycling assets from previous titles, particularly Black Flag, and for not being very innovative or original. It also felt shorter and less polished, relatively speaking, and was released alongside Unity, which drew attention away from it despite the game having a pretty strong story. However, I would argue people were more critical of Rogue at launch because of this dual release, and it's actually not too bad a game, all things considered.
9 Assassin's Creed Unity
Lead Arno Dorian Through The French Revolution
Assassin’s Creed Unity is an action-adventure game set during the French Revolution that was released alongside the above-mentioned Rogue. Players follow Arno Dorian, a young Assassin driven by revenge and redemption. Set in an 18th-century Paris, the game introduced an improved parkour system, allowing smoother navigation across rooftops and buildings, along with refined stealth mechanics. Unity was praised for its stunning visuals, historical accuracy, and atmospheric world-building, capturing the chaos and grandeur of revolutionary .
Ubisoft released Assassin’s Creed Unity and Rogue simultaneously to cater to both next-gen and current-gen console players during a hardware transition between PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 (as well as Xbox 360 and Xbox One).
It also introduced cooperative multiplayer missions, allowing up to four players to tackle objectives together. However, the game received heavy criticism at launch due to numerous bugs, glitches, and performance issues that hindered gameplay. Fans also noted that the story lacked depth and strong character development. Despite early backlash, post-launch updates improved the experience, and I would argue it's an underrated entry in the series.
8 Assassin's Creed Syndicate
Twin Assassin's Fight The Templar For Control Of Victorian-Era London
Assassin's Creed Syndicate is set in Victorian-era London and follows twin assassins Jacob and Evie Frye as they fight against the Templar over control of London during the Industrial Revolution. Their mission involves liberating the oppressed, uniting street gangs, and uncovering powerful secrets hidden in the city.

Assassin's Creed Shadows: 10 Best Legendary Weapons For Naoe
With a range of different legendary weapons available for Naoe in Assassin's Creed Shadows, these 10 are easily her best.
Syndicate introduced new features like a grappling hook and gang-style combat. Overall, it was much better received than its predecessor, Unity. Though Syndicate was criticized for its repetitive mission structure, it follows more or less the same formula as those that came before it. While not considered the best in the series, it helped restore faith in the franchise and is ed now as a solid addition to the Assassin’s Creed saga.
7 Assassin's Creed Freedom Cry
A Standalone Sequel To Black Flag
Assassin’s Creed: Freedom Cry on PS Plus is a standalone sequel to Black Flag, following Adéwalé, Edward Kenway’s former quartermaster, as he becomes an Assassin and fights to free slaves in 18th-century Haiti. Freedom Cry was originally released as a DLC expansion to Black Flag, only to later be re-released as a standalone game, but it honestly feels like it's lost somewhere between those two things.
The gameplay is largely unchanged from Black Flag, but the open world is smaller and offers less freedom for exploration. However, the naval combat and stealth mechanics are still solid, despite the pacing feeling rushed because of it being a more condensed overall game. Adéwalé is a compelling protagonist, but the experience lacks the polish, scope, and charm that made Black Flag exceptional. Overall, it still stands out as one of the better Assassin's Creed experiences to date.
6 Assassin's Creed: The Ezio Collection
Experience Asassin's Creed II, Brotherhood, & Revelations In One Bundle
Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection is a remastered bundle featuring three classic titles: Assassin’s Creed II, Brotherhood, and Revelations. It follows the original protagonist, Ezio Auditore da Firenze. AC II explores Renaissance Italy and Ezio’s personal revenge story. Brotherhood shifts to Rome, where Ezio leads the Assassin Brotherhood. And Revelations takes him to Constantinople, uncovering secrets of Altair and the origins of the Assassins.
While it doesn't include the original Assassin’s Creed, the collection is a great entry point into the franchise if you've never played the games before. Ezio’s arc remains a fan favorite, and the collection offers somewhat updated visuals (PS4 up-rendering) and all single-player DLC for each game that was released.
5 Assassin's Creed Odyssey
Explore Ancient Greece During The Peloponnesian War
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey stands out in the franchise for its expansive open world, rich storytelling, and true-to-form AC elements. Set in Ancient Greece during the Peloponnesian War, it offers players the choice to play as Alexios or Kassandra, mercenaries with a mysterious heritage. Unlike previous titles, Odyssey emphasizes player choice, with branching dialogue options, multiple endings, and romance choices.

Every Historical Figure In Assassin's Creed Odyssey
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey gives players the opportunity to meet the historical and mythological figures who shaped the Ancient Greek world.
Its vast world includes detailed cities, lush forests, and open seas, encouraging exploration and naval combat. The game also refines combat with a focus on skills and gear customization. By blending historical fiction with mythological elements, Odyssey pushes the boundaries of the Assassin’s Creed formula, offering a more personalized and immersive experience that helped redefine what the series can do.
4 Assassin's Creed Origins
Egypt Holds Many Ancient Mysteries For Bayek To Discover
Assassin’s Creed Origins is set in Ancient Egypt during the Ptolemaic period. It follows Bayek, a Medjay warrior, as he navigates political unrest and personal tragedy while uncovering a larger conspiracy. The game explores the roots of the Assassin Brotherhood. Players can explore vast deserts, bustling cities, and ancient ruins. The game has a level-scaling difficulty system, but as you progress up the ranks you will unlock better and better abilities that make gameplay easier.
Origins is widely appreciated for its rich open world, historical detail, and engaging story. It's considered a strong addition to the series, offering more depth and freedom than previous titles. Many players regard it as a fresh and rewarding entry point into the "modern" Assassin’s Creed games.
3 Assassin's Creed Valhalla
An Underrated Assassin's Creed Entry Set With Vikings &
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is arguably the most underrated AC game, despite being a rich, immersive experience that blends Norse mythology with historical truth. Many fans overlook it due to franchise fatigue or comparisons to earlier titles, but Valhalla stands out in its own right. The game offers a vast, beautifully crafted open world, compelling storylines, and a complex yet ittedly overwhelming skill tree system that could have used some refinement.
"Though highly criticized, Valhalla was a bold evolution of the Assassin’s Creed formula."
Eivor, the protagonist, is complex and engaging, with choices that genuinely affect the narrative. The integration of Viking culture as well as the inclusion of settlement raiding and building adds unique layers to the gameplay. Though highly criticized, Valhalla was a bold evolution of the Assassin’s Creed formula, and while not without its flaws, it's deserving of more recognition for how it redefined the series while honoring its roots.
2 Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag
A Fan-Favorite Assassin's Creed Title With A Completely Original Story
Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag is one of the most popular titles in the franchise due to its unique blend of open-world naval exploration, dynamic pirate-themed gameplay, and a charismatic protagonist, Edward Kenway. Set during the Golden Age of Piracy, the game follows Kenway, a privateer-turned-pirate who becomes entangled in the age-old conflict between Assassins and Templars.
Players explore the Caribbean, engaging in ship battles, treasure hunting, and stealth missions across lush islands and bustling colonial cities. The freedom of naval navigation and engaging story offer a refreshing departure from earlier titles. With its compelling mix of high-seas adventure and classic Assassin’s Creed elements, Black Flag stands out as a fan-favorite and a defining moment in the series’ evolution.
