It seems that the achievement list for the long-rumored next Assassin's Creed Odyssey.

Rumors have long been circulating on and off the web about the next iteration of Assassin's Creed. In November 2019, leaks suggested that the game was going to be called previous Assassin Creed leaks were inaccurate. For this reason, it should be explicitly said that any and all leaks going forward are not indicative of what the next Assassin's Creed will or will not be.

According to the most recent leak from Reddit (thanks, Game Rant) the next Assassin's Creed game will be called Valhalla, not Ragnarok. This supposed title change still fits in with the speculation that the game will be set in the era of Vikings. The full list of allegedly leaked achievements, which was originally reportedly discovered on 4chan, not only contains a number of references to Norse mythology but also alludes to the player being able to "upgrade settlements" and go on "raids," although it's unclear what exactly those entail. Again, this leak should be taken with a grain of salt, and doubted more seriously because of its origins, but with that said, it does appear to look plausible. Several Reddit s were quick to point out that the language used in the achievements list matched the language of achievements in past games, such as the use of the word "sequence." Elsewhere, the achievements alluded to the player being able to kill a kraken and enter the underworld, both things which wouldn't feel out of place in a Assassin's Creed Viking game.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey Naval Combat

The two most recent entries in the series, Assassin's Creed Odyssey and Assassin's Creed Origins, have been appropriately dubbed the Assassin's Creed Ancient History games. Both games take place before the common era and feature additional, optional "educational modes" devoid of violence. Ubisoft designed the games from the ground up, utilizing a new engine and new gameplay features like investigative questing and, in Assassin's Creed Odyssey, the choice of playable character. An Assassin's Creed game which takes place in the Viking age would bridge the gap between the Ancient worlds of Egypt/Greece and the more modern eras within the series.

The achievement list leak for the newly minted Assassin's Creed Valhalla sounds very enticing. Ubisoft won plenty of fans and critics over with the success of Origins and Odyssey, and the company now appears to be back on the right track after the commercial lull of Assassin's Creed Syndicate. But for now, all there's left to do for fans is wait and see what's in store for the next Assassin's Creed.
