  • Naoe embraces traditional Assassin's Creed combat while Yasuke embodies RPG elements in partnership against enemies.

Assassin's Creed Shadows' cinematic trailer has been revealed, introducing its two new protagonists, Yasuke and Naoe, and revealing some of their story in Japan during the late Sengoku period. The dual protagonist dynamic had previously been heavily rumored, in a return to titles such as Assassin's Creed Syndicate, which saw players switching between the Frye twins, Jacob and Evie.

The trailer premiered on the Ubisoft YouTube channel and showed Naoe becoming a Shinobi from Iga Province as she partners with the African samurai of historical legend, Yasuke to take on some of the enemy forces across the land.

While no gameplay was shown, it's clear that the two protagonists will take different approaches to combat, with Naoe's seeming to resemble more of the traditional approaches from earlier Assassin's Creed games, while Yasuke seems to mirror that of the more recent RPG-esque titles.
