Ubisoft recently released the first of its planned paid DLC expansions for Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Wrath of Druids. At least one other paid expansion is scheduled for later this year, as well as free updates, so when can players expect the next DLC to be added to the game?

Since its release in November 2020, Assassin's Creed Valhalla has had a fairly steady stream of post-launch content. This has included two free festival updates for players' settlements, including new mini-games, side quests, and cosmetic items. Assassin's Creed Valhalla also added a new River Raid mode early in 2021, and, after a slight delay, launched the first of two announced paid expansions, Wrath of Druids. Despite regular updates, however, the community hasn't been fully post-launch performance, with some accusing Ubisoft of prioritizing microtransactions over DLC.

A recent post from second major paid DLC, Siege of Paris has not been given a date beyond Summer 2021. Given that Wrath of Druids suffered a small delay of two weeks before release, and the recently announced extra time for title updates, it wouldn't be unreasonable to assume that Siege of Paris might push into early fall.

There are still a number of announced DLC updates for Assassin's Creed Valhalla that have not had their release dates confirmed. The game's original roap contained four seasons of free DLC; thus far, only two have been released, with two more remaining for 2021. There has also been no update on the Discovery Tour mode, beyond confirming that the mode is in development. Lastly, there is a rumor that a new god realm could be added to the mythical side of Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Currently players can access Asgard and Jotunheim; the new update would add Muspelheim as a destination.

Earlier in 2021, Ubisoft told investors that post-launch would be longer than that of previous game, Assassin's Creed Odyssey. Assassin's Creed Odyssey's post-launch releases went on for several months, indicating fans of the newer game should expect content releases for at least that long. Assassin's Creed Valhalla's initial roap charted updates through at least Fall 2021, and it's possible between delays and rumored new content that fans should expect new updates beyond that. Assassin's Creed Valhalla is already an incredibly long game, but players who need even more time as Vikings should find plenty to do in the coming months.
