Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed franchise has been one of its hallmark series since the beginning, and Assassin's Creed players finish the game.
The Ostara Festival for Assassin's Creed Valhalla took place early last year, with the event utilizing many smaller-scaled quests in order to reward players with exclusive loot. Some of these quests involve locating eggs in an egg hunt around the settlement, boxing an opponent in the town square, or even drinking contests against fellow Vikings. While these tasks may seem more entertainment-based, there are some skill-based quests, such as a timed archery trial and killing ghost-like spirits that haunt the fields outside the settlement, as well as tracking beasts in the forests and scouting for bonfire pits. While these tasks may seem unrewarding, the player will receive a hefty amount of tokens for completing them, which can be used to purchase new customization items for both Eivor and Ravensthorpe.
New content for Assassin's Creed games has always come in a variety of different ways, with a new crossover story with Assassin's Creed's Kassandra being added just back in December. Assassin's Creed Valhalla's Dawn Of Ragnarok DLC was also released just a few months ago, which introduced several new weapons, skills, and armor sets as well as a completely new map and set of enemies to fight against. The Ostara Festival is unique because it comes free to all players that own the game and typically accompanies a larger update to the game that not only fixes bugs but adds new options and quality of life improvements. While last year's Ostara Festival had unique rewards to earn, the Ostara Festival for 2022 has even more to claim.
New Rewards in Assassin's Creed Valhalla's 2022 Ostara Festival
After Assassin's Creed Valhalla's Yule Festival was extended late last year following issues, the earlier Ostara Festival worked well, and the rewards that could be earned for participating were a flower crown and flower beard item for Eivor, as well as a new color pallet for Eivor's raven. The player could also earn a set of floral arrangement shapes that could be placed around the settlement. All of these rewards are back in this year's festival, plus a few extras.
The new items that are part of the Ostara Festival include the Spear of Renewal, which is a spear covered in flowers and vines which provides a buff to health regeneration after throwing an enemy with the special attack. The second new item is the Vernal Bow, another weapon themed with vines and flowers, which provides adrenaline regeneration for five seconds after hitting a headshot on an enemy. While these weapons don't provide enormous buffs or changes, like Odin's powers in Dawn Of Ragnarok, they are exclusive to the event and are good to have for players that are earlier on in their playthrough of Assassin's Creed Valhalla.
The Ostara Festival is a great opportunity for players to spend extra time in the world of Assassin's Creed Valhalla and is an incentive to engage with settlements. The event only lasts for three weeks, so players that have been waiting for new content should revisit their games soon. Assassin's Creed Valhalla's Ostara Festival is available from April 21 to May 12, so hop back into the world of England and get to the festivities.
