While playing through Astro Bot, players will have the opportunity to uncover 300 different bots, several of which are cameos to famous video game characters. However, most don't realize there is a secret 301st bot to uncover once the rest have been found. Unfortunately, there's no way to skip straight to this bot, so you'll have to put in some work if you hope to find it.

[Warning: This article contains spoilers for the end of Astro Bot]

After collecting all 300 bots and completing everything, a golden Astro Bot statue will appear in the hub world with a message that someone is waiting for you at the top. Interact with the statue to see all the bots you collected appear, and build a wall that will allow you to reach the elusive and mysterious 301st bot.

How To Unlock The Secret 301st Bot in Astro Bot

Complete The Great Master Challenge

After all the discovered cameo bots are done gathering at the trophy, scale the bot wall to reach a moon where you will be transported to the most difficult puzzle in the game, The Great Master Challenge. Here, you will need to put all the skills you have learned to work to reach the friend waiting for you at the end of the level.

Screen Rant speaks with Astro Bot's Principal Animation Director to discuss how Team ASOBI translates classic Sony characters to cute robots.

This is by no means easy, hence the name, so try to have a little patience and plan out your moves. Additionally, note that you will be reset to the beginning for every failure, as there are no checkpoints in the challenge. Once you manage to complete it, you will reach the end where you will find none other than Chop Chop Master Onion from PaRappa The Rapper.

Aside from finding the 301st bot, you'll also receive a few other goodies for completing the challenge, such as a retro cosmetic and a Gen I Dual Speeder.

Don't forget that once you've discovered all 301 bots in Astro Bot, there are technically four more that can be found for a total of 305 if you are more of a completionist. Leading up to the release, four special bots became discoverable in Astro's Playroom, adding them to the final Astro Bot tally. Each is a special reference to notable PlayStation characters and games like Bloodborne and Returnal.
