Now, Isayama's next project has finally been announced.

Isayama's new manga will be a collaborative effort between the mangaka and Yūki Kaji, an anime voice actor who has provided the voices for iconic characters such as Attack on Titan and Meliodas from Seven Deadly Sins. Fans can look forward to reading the intriguing one-shot manga this summer in Kodansha Weekly Shōnen Magazine and Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine this summer.

Interestingly, the artist for the manga’s final edition is currently unknown, since the pair are hosting a contest in order to find the perfect artist to finish the job. This competition ends on April 30, 2024 and can be accessed and entered through the Days Neo website, along with the ability to catch a glimpse of Isayama’s original storyboards for the Soyogi Fractal project. Voice actor Kaji will be writing the story for the manga.

The Manga Will Feature a Main Character That Uses Voice Synthesis Technology

Another interesting detail has been revealed about Soyogi Soyogi, the title character of the one-shot. His character will incorporate voice synthesizers in order to morph the voice of Yuki Kaji as part of an project by CeVIO AI. The project began as a celebration of Kaji's 20th anniversary as a voice actor, and after a successful crowdfunding campaign, will finally be brought back to life in Fall 2024. A varitey of samples have been released showcasing what the voice bank will be like, featuring everything from "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" to "Akuma no Ko".

Vocal synthesizers have grown extremely popular thanks to characters like Hatsune Miku and other Vocaloid voice banks that have had a massive impact on the music industry around the world, with events like Miku Expo selling out venues in nearly every country the digital pop star visits. Kaji will certainly put his own unique touch on this technology and produce something remarkable through Soyogi’s character.

As well as the fascinating possibilities the use of vocal synthesis creates, it will also be exciting to see another project from the gifted Attack on Titan creator, Hajime Isayama. The end of the last episode of season 4 was sobering, heartbreaking, and breathtakingly well-written, filled with jaw-dropping action and raw emotion.

Any project Isayama has been involved with is sure to be phenomenal, and with the expertise of accomplished voice actor Yuki Kaji as well, this new manga project is sure to be an immense success with an entertaining story, stunning art, and the incorporation of unique vocal synthesizer elements.
