In the Final Season of Attack on Titan, Eren has gained the ability to transform into the terrifying Founding Titan and command a powerful Titan army. This gigantic new Titan form is unlike anything seen in the series so far, leaving many fans with questions about what exactly its powers are. Answering these questions requires an understanding first of the long history of the Founding Titan.

The of the royal family of Eldia have been the inheritors of the Founding Titan powers since the walls were built. When the 145th king of Eldia, Karl Fritz, relocated the humans of his kingdom and had the walls built around them, he used the hardened bodies of titans to make the core of each wall. When the walls were built, he used the Founding Titan scream to erase the memories of the majority of people inside and instituted a Binding Vow to prevent his descendants from going to war outside the walls. However, eventually, Eren's father Grisha was able to steal this power and ed it on to his son, who eventually was able to unlock its full powers.

Eren's Founding Titan Powers Make Him Attack on Titan's Strongest Character

Eren as the Founding Titan

With the full powers of the Founding Titan at his disposal, Eren is able to awaken the Titans that make up the walls surrounding Paradis and enact the Rumbling. The Rumbling is only possible because the Founding Titan can also control any Titans, which he enables him to march the Colossal Titans on a devastating path of destruction. He is also able to communicate telepathically with all the Eldians across the world, as he did when he announced his plans for mass genocide. He also has retained the memory manipulation abilities that Karl Fritz used to erase his subjects' memories upon first creating Paradis. Outside his mental abilities, his Founding Titan form is also gigantic, making him incredibly physically imposing.

Eren's Founding Titan powers make him easily the most powerful Titan seen in the series so far. While he had manifested some of these powers in the series previously such as when he saved Mikasa at the end of Season 2 by using his ability to control Titans, he needed with the Royal Bloodline to do that. But after Eren freed the founder Ymir from this restriction he was able to become more powerful than he had ever been. He even used his Founding Titan powers to bring him to that point, by sending the Smiling Titan to kill his mother on the day the Walls first fell.

It will be incredibly difficult for Eren's former friends to stop his rampage given how powerful the Founding Titan makes him. Their final confrontation is sure to make the Final Part of Attack on Titan's Final Season airing in Fall 2023 potentially the best episode of the series. No matter how Attack on Titan ends, Eren's rampage shows that the Founding Titan powers will affect the future of the Eldians as much as it has already affected their past.
