About Joe Deckelmeier
Joe embarked on his ionate journey in the entertainment industry from his hometown of Los Angeles, CA. He started as a Production Assistant at G4 and gradually ascended to the role of a Producer for SyFy’s Comic-Con Live. His career, adorned with numerous television, film, and reality TV projects, was a testament to his unwavering love for the industry. The experience of working for various pop culture-centric entertainment shows ignited a spark in him, which led him to create his own pop-culture media outlets as the founder of That Hashtag Show and The Illuminerdi. However, it was at Screen Rant that he truly found his calling, serving as their lead host and interviewer.
Industry Focus
Having been with Screen Rant since 2016, Joe went from sleeping in line at San Diego Comic-Con’s Hall H to getting the opportunity to interview the world’s most famous actors, directors, and producers and learn about the filmmaking process from them firsthand. When Joe isn’t watching films or television, he can usually be found at a pro wrestling event or watching pro wrestling, something he’s been obsessed with since childhood.
Favorite Media
While pro wrestling is Joe’s escape, he has a deep ion for Marvel, DC, Star Wars, and Power Rangers. As a child of the 90’s, Power Rangers had a lasting effect on Joe, who followed the series for the whole 30-year run. Interviewing former Power Rangers actors for his own outlets is where Joe found his new ion, which he brought with him to Screen Rant. His guilty pleasure shows are competition reality shows like MTV’s The Challenge and now, Deal or No Deal Island.
