About Kate Bove

Nominated for an LA Press Club National Arts & Entertainment Journalism Award in 2022, Kate is a freelance entertainment writer and editor. Before ing Screen Rant, they wrote for SFGATE, Game Rant, Ask.com, and CBR, among others. Kate is a member of GALECA, the Society of LGBTQ Entertainment Critics. Aside from writing, she has worked at several film festivals, including Frameline, the San Francisco International LGBTQ+ Film Festival, as well as the San Francisco International Film Festival (SFFILM). Now based in Oakland, they received a BFA in creative writing from Emerson College in Boston, before pursuing an MFA in creative writing at the University of San Francisco.

Kate's interests as a writer include the films of David Lynch; off-beat comedies like Our Flag Means Death; video game and book adaptations, from The Last of Us to Percy Jackson; and TV classics, including Grey's Anatomy, Sex and the City, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. From campy cult hits to the latest scare-fest, Kate also loves horror films.
