About Rachel Labonte

Rachel LaBonte is one of Screen Rant's core news editors and movie/TV critics. A graduate of Emerson College, she majored in Media Arts Production while specializing in screenwriting. She's been a writer since high school. Most notably, she wrote for Emerson's website Emertainment Monthly, and one of her film reviews won an Evvy (Emerson's student awards) for Best Review.

Industry Focus

Rachel's love of film and television stretches across numerous genres, with her specialties being fantasy, YA, and romance. When she was a staff writer for Screen Rant, she would focus on the titles she knew best, which included Criminal Minds, Avatar: The Last Airbender, and anything involving the MCU.

Favorite Media

It seems Rachel's favorite movies and shows are ever-changing as she watches more and more, but there remain several constants. Criminal Minds has been a go-to for her since high school, while Captain America will always be her most beloved superhero. These days, she can be found raving over the latest fantasy book she's read.
