Announced in time for the original series' 20-year celebration, Avatar: Seven Havens is a new animated series within the universe of Avatar. Originally debuting in 2005, Avatar: The Last Airbender is set in a fantasy realm where the world is divided up into four nations, each representing an elemental force such as air, water, earth, or fire. In order to unite the world and stop the dastardly machinations of the Fire Nation, Aang (the titular character) must master all four elemental powers. Blending Eastern and Western animation styles, Avatar was one of the most influential Aughts cartoons.
The original series ran for three seasons, and the divisive sequel, The Legend of Korra, stuck around for four installments in the early 2010s. Though the franchise branched out into live-action, it was the realm of animation that always seemed like home for The Last Airbender. Now, Avatar Studios (founded in 2021) has announced Avatar: Seven Havens, their first animated series set within the Avatar universe. Though an animated feature film is also on the horizon from Avatar Studios, Seven Havens is the franchise's first true return since The Legend of Korra went off the air over a decade ago.

A New Avatar Rises To Repair A Fractured World
While the full story of Avatar: Seven Havens isn't known yet, Avatar Studios has given a pretty clear picture of what's to come in the series. Taking place after the events of The Legend of Korra, the show will follow the newest Avatar, an Earthbender, who is tasked with reuniting the world after the previous Avatar (Korra) fractured the nations into the eponymous Seven Havens. This premise seems to suggest that Korra's legacy is going to be tarnished, but Seven Havens will likely redeem her somehow.

The new Avatar is a girl of an undisclosed age, and her name and other important details remain elusive for now. However, besides trying to save the world, the Avatar is also hunting for her long-lost twin sister. This is perhaps the most unique wrinkle in the new series, as there has never been an Avatar with siblings before. How this changes the dynamic remains to be seen, but it's clear that there's more to the lore of Avatar: Seven Havens than what's been revealed already.
After a world-altering catastrophe, a young Earthbender in Avatar: Seven Havens discovers she is the new Avatar but is feared rather than revered. With her lost twin, she must uncover their origins and defend the Seven Havens from destruction while evading relentless enemies.
