Netflix’s live-action adaptation of dismal 2010 M. Night Shyamalan live-action adaptation, The Last Airbender, many fans rejoiced when Netflix put out a genuinely good live-action TV show version of the beloved story. After the success of season 1, the streaming giant quickly picked the show up for seasons 2 and 3. Now, Netflix has added seven new cast to fill roles for those two seasons.
According to Netflix, Avatar: The Last Airbender’s new season 2 cast include:
- Madison Hu (The Brothers Sun) as Fei
- Dichen Lachman (Severance and Jurassic World Dominion) as Yangchen
- Dolly de Leon (Triangle of Sadness) as Lo and Li
- Lily Gao (Twisted Metal) as Ursa
- Terry Chen (Jessica Jones and House of Cards) as Jeon Jeon
In addition to those Avatar: The Last Airbender season 2 cast , they’ve added Jon Jon Briones (Ratched) as Piandao and Tantoo Cardinal (Killers of the Flower Moon and Dances With Wolves) as Hama for Avatar: The Last Airbender season 3. To make matters even more exciting, filming wrapped for season 2 this month, and they started production on season 3 immediately afterward.

While all the new Avatar: The Last Airbender season 2 and 3 actors are exciting, the ones I’m most looking forward to are Dichen Lachman as Yangchen and Tantoo Cardinal as Hama. Lachman and Cardinal have made an impression on me with their ability to handle any role they’re given. They're truly powerhouse actors whose performances could elevate the show even more.
The fact that Avatar: The Last Airbender seasons 2 and 3 are filming back-to-back, without a big break in between, is a promising sign that the characters, including Avatar’s returning cast and the newcomers, will have consistency across the seasons.
