Warning! Spoilers for Avengers Mech Strike #5 below

With Avengers, the team just used the villain's own mastery of time to stop him. In Avengers Mech Strike #5, Black Panther returns as the Herald of Eternity and jumps into the timestream to reverse Kang's evil plans, cutting him off from it and making him helpless to the hero's new powers.

Avengers Mech Strike is a non-canon story featuring a timeline in which the superteam is overwhelmed by powerful biomechanoids sent by Kang to destroy Earth. To stop him, Tony Stark gave the Avengers their own mech suits, which proved effective against the villain's forces. However, Kang's continued meddling with the timeline left the Avengers vulnerable - as they even tried teaming up with Thanos to stop the threat but could only watch as the time-traveler defeated the Mad Titan with ease. After Kang seemingly disintegrated Black Panther, Eternity plucked him from his timeline and granted T'Challa his incredible powers to stop him. Now, the hero is using his extraordinary new abilities to ensure Kang's plan fails in a big way.

In Avengers: Mech Strike #5 by Jed MacKay, Carlos Magno, Guru-eFX, and Cory Petit, Black Panther escapes Kang's grasps, challenging the Conqueror to catch him in the time-stream. After releasing his undead Avengers to stop the actual team, Kang teleports across different timelines to find the Herald of Eternity. Black Panther reveals he sent Kang on a wild goose chase and had discovered his own quarry to combat him. He throws Kang's timebreaker machine back at him, which sends him back in time and erases his army on Earth. Black Panther tells the Avengers he used his powers to hunt Kang through the time stream and cut him off before sending the first biomechanoid to Earth - destroying his timebreaker device so he couldn't fight back against Eternity.

In turn, Black Panther's actions ensured none of the events Kang unleashed happened - even if the heroes retained memories of the battle. Ultimately, Black Panther used Kang's time-travel shenanigans against him, and when the villain was distracted, he erased the attack from having ever occurred. It's smart thinking from T'Challa, who saved his fellow Avengers from a grim fate at the hands of Kang.

With the Avengers Mech Strike miniseries coming to an end, the final chapter continued to up the ante and provided non-stop action in a surprisingly fun story which initially seemed like a gimmick to sell action figures. But, in the end, Avengers Mech Strike was a wild ride about the team suiting up and taking on Kang that never stepped on the breaks. It's a great series for those who like cosmic chaos and want to see Kang the Conqueror in action against the Avengers. Avengers Mech Strike #5 is in comic book stores now.
