The Avengers roster is still unconfirmed for Avengers: Doomsday cast after their 2025 film, but many characters remain on the table.
Some likely candidates for the team include veterans like Doctor Strange, Ant-Man, Captain Marvel, and Captain America, along with newcomers such as Shang-Chi and Ms. Marvel. Marvel introduced many new characters in Phases 4 and 5, and an Avengers project provides an opportunity to bring back many of them if they're not getting another solo project. One new character who deserves a second shot is Adam Warlock, played by Will Poulter. He had a limited role in his debut film, and Avengers: Doomsday is an excellent project for his return.
Adam Warlock Is One Of Marvel's Most Powerful Characters
Adam Warlock's abilities haven't been fully displayed in the MCU
Adam Warlock made his MCU debut in 2023's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. He was first teased in a post-credits scene from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and didn't appear until six years later. Created by Ayesha and the High Evolutionary, Adam is meant to be a perfect and powerful member of the Sovereign. He is ordered to find and kidnap Rocket Raccoon and return him to the High Evolutionary, but he ultimately helps the Guardians after the High Evolutionary kills his mother.

How Powerful Adam Warlock Is In The MCU vs. The Comics
Will Poulter is ing the MCU as Adam Warlock in Guardians of the Galaxy 3 - but just how powerful is Will Poulter's long-awaited Marvel character?
The MCU's Adam differs largely from the comics. In Marvel Comics, Adam was invented by the Enclave, a group of scientists on Earth. After turning on his creators, Adam finds the High Evolutionary, who gives him the Soul Stone. With the power of the Soul Stone, Adam is one of the most powerful beings in the Marvel universe and was a crucial part of helping the Avengers defeat Thanos in the Infinity War comics. The MCU's Adam doesn't have the Soul Stone, but he still has incredible super-strength, speed, flight, and near invulnerability.
The Status Of Adam Warlock And The Other Guardians Of The Galaxy Is Still Unknown
Marvel still hasn't shared its plans for everyone's favorite space team
While Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is considered the final film in this trilogy, the Guardians are still around, but with a different lineup. Groot and Rocket Raccoon are still on the new Guardians team and are ed by Adam Warlock, Kraglin, Cosmo, and Phyla. However, it's unclear if and when other former of the Guardians will return. Star-Lord is the only member supposedly getting another project, but little is known about it.
The other team , including Gamora, Nebula, Mantis, and Drax could return, but Marvel hasn't shared any details. Drax is the least likely to return as Dave Bautista has confirmed he's done with the role. The biggest question is when the new Guardians will return. It's unlikely that Marvel would establish a new team only to never bring them back. With a battle against Doctor Doom looming, the Guardians would likely hear about this multiversal threat and help the Avengers, giving Adam Warlock a chance to show his full potential.
Avengers: Doomsday Or Secret Wars Is The Perfect Project To Display His Impressive Power
Adam Warlock could be crucial in the fight against Doctor Doom
Doctor Doom is often a massive threat to the Avengers, and it's unclear what Robert Downey Jr's villain will look like. If he represents a threat to the multiverse, then the Avengers need all the help they can get. Adam Warlock could be pivotal in the battle against Doom, and he still hasn't reached his full potential. In Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Adam hasn't fully developed since he emerged from his cocoon prematurely.
As Adam matures, he could reach his most powerful level during Avengers: Doomsday or Secret Wars. It also allows Will Poulter to have a larger role in a Marvel project since his Guardians 3 role was somewhat limited. The MCU still hasn't delivered on the massive tease from Guardians 2, and Adam Warlock's role in the next Avengers films could give audiences the version of this character they've been waiting for.
