WARNING: This article includes SPOILERS from Thunderbolts*.Thunderbolts* star Lewis Pullman addresses how the MCU timeline, with Thunderbolts* exploring his complex backstory while also establishing him as one of the most powerful beings in the franchise. However, as Avengers: Doomsday will feature the Thunderbolts* characters, including Sentry, Bob's journey is just getting started in the MCU.

In a new interview with the ending of Thunderbolts*, Pullman itted he was surprised to learn that Sentry would be making his way into Avengers: Doomsday, as he shared the following:

I was so surprised and honored to hear that I was going to be able to dip my toes into Doomsday. Because I wasn't sure how much of his memory was lost, and whether he's covering, or whether it's really real and he is fully back at square one. And does that mean that he has to relearn all of these emotional valuable lessons that he's garnered throughout the course [of this movie]? Or is that something that kind of becomes inherently a part of him? It's a really interesting thing to grapple with as an actor... It could go in a lot of different directions.

What Lewis Pullman's Sentry Comments Mean For Avengers: Doomsday

As established in the Thunderbolts* movie ending, it will be a risk for Bob to ever attempt to be Sentry again, as that could unlock The Void once more, which is definitely going to be something Avengers: Doomsday tackles, since Pullman is reprising his character in 2026. Based on Pullman's comments, Bob's Thunderbolts* ending is being taken into serious , which also helps set up a fascinating dilemma for Avengers: Doomsday. Given how powerful Sentry is, he could very well be one of the major keys to dealing with Victor von Doom.

However, as Pullman stated himself, Bob will have a lot of things to navigate throughout the Avengers: Doomsday story, especially if Sentry is meant to have any involvement in the war against Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom. That could perhaps be the reason why Thunderbolts* ended with Bob no longer operating as Sentry, so that he can overcome this hurdle in Avengers: Doomsday, thus helping him complete his origin story. The massive complexity that exists with Sentry as a character will likely add a lot of depth to the Avengers: Doomsday plot in general.
