Captain Marvel transforms into her Binary form in the latest Avengers: Infinity War's sequel will see a lesser cast following The Decimation, but the remaining heroes will have some brand new allies in Ant-Man, the returning Hawkeye, and Captain Marvel.
It's been only a month since the first female headlining superhero in the franchise debuted via Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck's she's also the strongest character in the MCU, making her their best bet against Thanos.
This recently-released Endgame TV spot highlights just how powerful Carol is as she's seen glowing. Based on the scene's backdrop, it appears to be on the Avengers HQ grounds, which means that Cap and the rest might actually see her in this state. In another sequence, she blasts off to space from Earth similar to what she did in Captain Marvel's final action set piece. Elsewhere in the clip are a couple more bits of never before seen footage, such as Rocket asking his Benatar engers who's yet to go to space, to which Cap, Widow and War Machine reluctantly raising their hands while the talking Racoon warns them to not throw up on his ship. A split-second side shot of Hawkeye aboard the same vessel is included. Watch the clip (via holybaconz) below:
As the release of Endgame nears, fans can expect more spots like this to pop up, and more often than not, they'll have a couple of new snippets that offer clues regarding what's going to occur in the film. For instance, the reveal of Hawkeye in the Benatar confirms that he's back at the HQ early in the movie, meaning Natasha's excursion to Japan will likely be in the first act. Rocket's quip solidifies the notion that he'll be a source of humor, and it'll be interesting to see how the more buttoned-up heroes react to his snappy comments.
Obviously, the main takeaway from this spot is Captain Marvel in Binary form. The last time fans saw her was (chronologically) more than two decades ago, and at that time she's already powerful. Couple that with the experience she gained throughout her adventures since then and it's safe to say she's at peak shape. No wonder she's so confident in suggesting simply taking on Thanos. That being said, since Avengers: Endgame will potentially be the final mission for the core six Avengers, it doesn't seem likely that Carol will be the one to deliver the final blow to Thanos. But that's okay since she still has a long way to go in the MCU.
