Even more heroes are coming to Square Enix’s game centered around Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.

However, developer Crystal Dynamics has remained tight-lipped on whether or not the minor criminal-turned-S.H.I.E.L.D-operative would be appearing in the game, instead focusing on characters like Captain America and Ms. Marvel in their previous advertising and last month's War Table stream. While it has been revealed that the game will feature a live service and microtransactions, it was still unknown just exactly what would be added to Marvel’s Avengers after it hits stores on September 4. Now, fans have gained one very enticing glimpse.

While today’s Marvel’s Avengers War Table stream mostly focused on the beta run set for next month, it was also revealed that Hawkeye will indeed be coming to the game post-launch during a special segment of the show. The famed archer is shown battling a group of A.I.M-controlled robots in a dark hanger of some kind, taking them all down with his trademark bow and arrows (including an explosive one towards the end of the fight). While this is going on, a narration describes how there are only 20 Avengers left after the disaster in San Francisco that sets the game’s story in motion. The scene finally ends with a close-up look at the man himself, dressed in a purple, MCU-style uniform and sporting a buzzcut. Check it out in the YouTube clip below:

Hawkeye has remained a highly requested character during the months since Marvel’s Avengers was first unveiled, with even possibility of playing as him in a video game. However, until today’s War Table stream, the only real indication that Clint Barton would be ing the fight was a reassuring tweet from Marvel Games VP and Creative Director Bill Rosemann shortly after Marvel’s Avengers was revealed at E3 last year.

Now it seems that the skilled archer will be taking up his bow against M.O.D.O.K and A.I.M in Marvel’s Avengers after all, even if it’s as post-release DLC. So far there hasn’t been any gameplay footage of Hawkeye, but the reveal trailer hints that his trademark archery and acrobatics will be present and ed for, along with some trusty trick arrows thrown in for good measure. Fans will no doubt be excited for the inclusion of Hawkeye in Marvel’s Avengers, which is set to enter beta testing in August, followed by a full release in September.
