2020’s Marvel’s Avengers allows players to step into the shoes of some of their favorite superheroes. It begins with a young Kamala Khan, unaware of her supernatural abilities, celebrating A-Day in San Francisco with her father. However, things go awry when an attack from Taskmaster leaves the city in ruins. The Avengers are blamed for the tragedy, leading the group to disband.

The game jumps ahead five years. In the time since the infamous A-Day celebrations, A.I.M. has managed to assume control of most of the city, banning superheroes in the process. Their goal is to eradicate the Inhumans or find a cure, believing the Inhumans to be detrimental to the health and safety of society. So, when Kamala is declared Inhuman, she has to escape the organization and try and meet up with the resistance in hopes of reunited the Avengers in the process.

Though players start off as Kamala, they get to unlock more playable superheroes as Marvel's Avengers progresses. This includes the mysterious character Tiny Dancer, whose identity is kept a secret at the beginning of Marvel's Avengers. Tiny Dancer is the code name Black Widow uses in order to evade A.I.M. It’s a reference to her time in childhood spent as a ballet dancer, as well as a music box that holds special significance to her. During the beginning part of the game, Black Widow assists the Avengers by sending them online messages. The reason she’s accepted a pseudonym is because she’s working undercover at A.I.M. in order to learn more about the corporation’s plans. She eventually reveals her true identity in order to save Kamala, and though it may not be the most surprising twist, it definitely keeps players on their toes.

How To Unlock Black Widow In Marvel’s Avengers

Marvels Avengers Black Widow Ready Pose

Players unlock Black Widow after completing the mission ‘To Stand Alone,’ which happens roughly halfway through the story campaign. She’s the fourth character in Marvel's Avengers that can be unlocked in the game's story. Black Widow features a variety of effective attacks and abilities, including Veil of Shadows, which allows her to become invisible and gain the upper hand. Widow’s Bite, similarly, immobilizes players for a brief second, allowing Black Widow to weaken them with other attacks.

However, it is possible to unlock Black Widow even earlier. If players select the Avengers Initiative mode from the main menu, all six playable heroes will be unlocked immediately. There is a drawback, though, as this mode takes place after the main story campaign of Marvel's Avengers finishes, so there will be spoilers. For players that don’t care much about the story, this is a quick way to advance to a point where every hero is playable. But for those who want to take their time and enjoy Marvel’s Avengers’ campaign, then it’s best to wait until Black Widow and the rest of the heroes are unlocked as the story progresses.
