The Avengers movies have one annoying tradition when it comes to the main villain, but Avengers: Endgame. As has been made clear by the title, Avengers: The Kang Dynasty will see Kang the Conqueror as the main villain – a character that offers a much different dynamic from other Avengers villains.

From Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame. Although that approach allows every Avenger to have a moment to shine during the third-act battle, it has become repetitive and makes the Avengers films too predictable. Kang, on the other hand, usually doesn’t have an army of minions, which means his battle against the Avengers can be more creative.

Unlike Avengers: Secret Wars. That unique type of threat can lead to a more unpredictable Avengers movie.

Why Kang The Conqueror Will Be Tougher To Defeat Than Thanos

Thanos and Kang

As powerful as Thanos was, defeating the Mad Titan essentially came down to beating Thanos and his army in a fight. Granted, the Avengers had to jump through time in order to retrieve the Infinity Stones, but a classic third-act fight was still necessary for the heroes to win in Endgame. When it comes to Kang, however, the fate of the entire multiverse might not depend on the Avengers’ strength only. It’s not even clear what version or versions of Kang the Avengers will face, which goes to show how more complex the time-traveler villain is compared to Thanos. Instead of facing a horde of minions, it would be interesting for the Avengers to fight multiple versions of Kang across time and space in The Kang Dynasty.

Kang the Conqueror is not an easy villain to adapt, and that is why he is the perfect villain for the next Avengers movie. While Loki, Ultron, and Thanos are very different characters, the way they faced the Avengers and even their goals were quite similar – which was a problem. The Marvel universe is more than just incredibly powerful villains, and given how the MCU is now more open to comic book concepts like the multiverse, there was no better villain to follow up Thanos than Kang. It remains to be seen how the Avengers’ fight against Kang will play out, and how creative Avengers: The Kang Dynasty can get with its villain.
