There are many unique weapon options in Ranger build, but the ones that synergize most are daggers, swords, spears, longbows, arquebuses, and pistols. This guide will help you decide which unique weapons to utilize along the way if you decide not to upgrade any basic weapons. These unique Ranger weapons can be found at different legs in your journey, and you'll likely want to swap them out depending on certain situations.
The best weapons for Rangers will complement Ranger abilities in the areas of stealth, ranged attacks, and critical hit chance and damage, among others. Enchantment upgrades will further enhance these weapons and buff your Ranger abilities substantially. Below is a look at the best unique weapons for Rangers in Avowed, where to track them down, and which enchantment upgrade options are best for different situations.
Quick Links
10 Sheathed In Summer
A Unique Dagger With High Fire Damage
Sheathed in Summer is easily one of the best unique weapon options in Avowed for a Ranger available early in the game. This can be obtained by killing Octav the Firebrand, and has some excellent Fire buildup. The base ability, Burning Lash, gives your hits +10% bonus fire damage, while the starter enchantment, Glimmering Embers, deals Fire accumulation for a full combo attack.
If you take the Burning Pyre enchantment upgrade, dual-wielding Sheathed in Summer and Last Light of Day (see below) can deal incredible Fire Damage and Accumulation.
This enchantment can be upgraded based on your playstyle with either Burning Pyre or Flint and Iron. Burning Pyre does the same thing as Glimmering Embers, only it extends to all nearby enemies, as opposed to one target. Flint and Iron is a better choice for stealth dagger builds, allowing a successful Parry to deal high Fire Accumulation. Timing matters more with that choice, but its impact is OP.
9 Last Light Of Day
A Unique Sword That Complements Sheathed In Summer
Last Light of Day is acquired from Sargamis after deciding whether to place the splinter of Eothas in the statue and is an equally OP unique Fire-based weapon. It pairs with the above Sheathed in Summer for maximum dual-wielding fire damage, or functions well on its own or even with a shield. The base effect is the same as Sheathed in Summer as well, dealing +10% bonus Fire Damage per hit.
The base enchantment for Last Light of Day restores 3% of your Maximum Health upon defeating an enemy. The two upgrade options are Golden Sun's Zenith, which raises that to 10% of your Maximum Health, and Blinding Daybreak, which causes a successful Parry to deal high Stun to the attacker. This is a versatile sword that fits a wide range of playstyles, and is deadly against enemies weak to Fire.
8 The Long Touch
Easily The Best Early-Game Bow Option
The Long Touch is the best bow option available in Dawnshore, and for a decent chunk of change, you can get your hands on it at the Merchant located on the Street of the Gods in Hightown. This bow is ideal for a stealth Ranger build as its base ability, Lesser Opening Strike, gives +5% damage against enemies with full health. The Long Touch's basic enchantment, Grim Focus, provides a +10% Critical Hit chance for Power Attacks while fine aiming.

Avowed: Best Fighter/Wizard Multiclass Guide (Abilities, Attributes, & Weapons)
The right combination of gear, abilities, companions, and choices for a Fighter/Wizard build in Avowed will take you a long way toward the endgame.
Grim Focus is designed for surprise attacks, and can be upgraded to either Lethal Focus, which increases the above percentage to 20%, or Thrill of the Hunt, which Thrill of the Hunt, which gives you +10% Attack Damage and +20% Attack Speed for 6 seconds after killing an enemy. Taken early, Lethal Focus can annihilate enemies from a stealth position.
7 One Last Trick
An Arquebus With Ricocheting Bullets
One Last Trick is a unique arquebus rewarded in Emerald Stair by the Rangers at the Ranger Headquarters after completing the "Steel Resolve" quest. This arquebus has a nifty trick (hence the name) which allows bullets to ricochet to nearby targets, further enhanced by enchantment upgrades. One Last Trick's base ability is +20% Reload Speed as well, making it one of the fastest arquebus options.
The Ricochet enchantment can be upgraded to either Trick Shot, which lets bullets bounce to two additional enemies within range, or the Incendiary Charge, which causes bullets to deal low Fire Accumulation and bounce to an additional enemy within range. In my experience, there are too many good fire buffs in the game not to take advantage of Incendiary Charge.
6 Survivor's Guilt
The Frost Version Of Sheathed In Summer
Survivor's Guilt is a dagger that essentially does the exact same things as Sheathed in Summer, but with Frost damage instead of Fire. Its basic ability is Freezing Lash, which deals +10% Frost Damage per hit, while the basic enchantment, Needling Doubt, allows full combo attacks to deal high Frost accumulation — sound familiar? The Frost buildup on this thing is awesome, and ideal for a build that incorporates other Frost-based gear.

10 Best Weapons To Use In Avowed
Breaking the traditional class-restricted gear pattern of many RPGs, Avowed lets players equip any weapon they'd like. Here are some of the best.
The enchantment options on Survivor's Guilt make this dagger much better than its Fire-based doppleganger. Haunting Regrets enables full combo attacks to deal high Frost and Poison accumulation to all nearby enemies, making it one of the most OP enchantments available. Alternatively, Bitter Shame enables power attacks to deal +30% Frost Accumulation for 10 seconds on the target.
5 Ancient Alacrity
A Bow That Slows Down Enemies Significantly
Found deep in Galawain's Tusks, the Ancient Alacrity bow is among the best and most universally useful weapons in the game. Its ability allows you to slow down targets substantially while speeding yourself up significantly, resulting in almost Matrix-style combat. Ancient Alacrity's Parting Shot basic ability lets power attacks grant you +20% Move Speed for 5 seconds, while its base enchantment, Time-Stealing Arrow, slows the enemy down by 15% for 5 seconds.
Enchantment upgrades for this bow take it to another level as well. The Weight of Eons option slows the enemy down by an increased 25% for a total of 8 seconds, which honestly feels like a long time during combat. The other, equally good option is Time's Cruel Embrace, which slows nearby enemies by 15% for 5 seconds after killing an enemy.
4 Umpara's Spear
This Spear Shoots A Poison Dart
Umpara's Spear is an excellent poison build addition and is rewarded for returning the Heart of Leviathan to Keipo during the "Heart of Valor" quest. It's also just an extremely powerful spear, with a base ability, Deadly Mechanism, that deals +25% Critical Hit Damage. Its premier feature is the Deadly Mechanism enchantment, which allows power attacks to launch a poison dart, giving the spear a ranged option.
Poison and poison accumulation are arguably the strongest elemental effects in Avowed, and can be made even more effective with the range of accessories, clothing, armor, and abilities.
This can be further enhanced by choosing either the Paralyzing Toxin or Unbalancing Rhythm enchantment upgrades. Paralyzing Toxin leans into the poison dart ability, causing the dart to deal Poison accumulation to both the target and nearby enemies. Unbalancing Rhythm, on the other hand, causes a full combo attack to slow down the enemy and give them -20% Damage Reduction for 10 seconds.
3 Wayfinder
A Shocking, Stunning Spear
The Wayfinder spear is one of just a handful of unique weapons obtained from The Garden, an area that players will find as they progress past Shatterscarp. This spear is an excellent melee option for Rangers and has the potential to deal high Shock damage. Its base ability allows you to lunge from farther away during a power up attack, and while the starting enchantment deals amazing Stun damage, the enchantment upgrades are what kick this spear online.
Accumulated Shock damage spreads to other enemies periodically, dealing both Shock damage and Stun, so Wayfinder is ideal for Stunning enemies and capitalizing on combo attacks.
Open the Sky takes the base enchantment up a notch, dealing both high Stun and Shock accumulation to all nearby enemies, giving you many opportunities for special attacks. Fortuitous Journey, on the other hand, grants you +30% Move Speed and +5% Damage Reduction for 20 seconds after killing an enemy.
2 Moonstrike
A Frosty Arquebus From Forgemaster Dela
Moonstrike is a Frost damage-dealing arquebus that requires precious Starmetal fragments to be forged by Forgemaster Dela at Solace Keep. This won't be available until late in the game, but the Moonstrike arquebus is a contender for best arquebus. Its base ability is the usual Frost buildup option, Freezing Lash, which deals +10% bonus Frost Damage per hit. However, its basic enchantment is Ondra's Scorn, which causes power attacks to deal moderate Frost Accumulation to all nearby enemies as well.

Avowed: Practical Pockets Treasure Map Location & Rewards
The Practical Pockets Treasure in Avowed is found in the Emerald Stair and rewards Hjilde’s Handy Hide, a fine quality unique light armor.
This enchantment can be upgraded to Ondra's Anger, raising Frost accumulation from moderate to high, or to Lunar Champion, which gives you +5% Damage Reduction for 10 seconds after killing an enemy. I recommend Ondra's Anger for anyone looking at a Frost build.
1 Umbral Needle
A Dagger With Vampiric Abilities
The Umbral Needle is hands down the best dagger in the game for a stealth build, and can be found northeast of the Ash Forest Outpost in Galawain's Tusks as part of "The Blade That Hungers" Treasure Map quest. For starters, the Umbral Needle has Greater Opening Strike, giving +15% damage against enemies at full health. This is ideal for stealth builds, as enemies will be caught unawares at max health most of the time.
The Umbral Needle's basic enchantment gives you health with each attack (Fampyr's Bite restores 2% of the damage you deal as health). This can be upgraded to 4% with the Fampyr's Feast enchantment upgrade, or Black Wind. The latter provides +30% Attack Speed for 10 seconds after killing an enemy with a special attack, allowing you to get in an absurd amount of hits after each special.
Umbral Needle and others on this list are just a handful of the best options for unique weapons for Rangers in Avowed. Be sure to check out the other available unique spears, daggers, arquebuses, pistols, and swords and experiment with what works best for you.
