Like any great RPG, Avowed has no shortage of taverns, shops, and back-alley stalls to browse and buy at. Dawnshore, Avowed's first zone, alone contains a staggering 13 merchants waiting to sell their wares to the fresh-faced envoy. All of these merchants can be found in and around Paradis, the zone's central hub of civilization, and offer a wide assortment of weapons, armor, crafting materials, and food.

With so many different shops, it can be difficult to find exactly what you're looking for. Despite Avowed not being open-world, it has crammed an immense amount of items and secrets within its more hand-crafted maps. Some of those unique items are found in the world, while others can be purchased at unassuming, nameless NPC-run shops. In an effort to find those great items or whatever else you may need, here is every shop inventory in Dawnshore.

All Dawnshore Vendor Inventories & Where To Find Merchants

Every Merchant In Avowed's First Zone

The following merchants are found in and around Paradis. The first group of three can be found on the Claviger's Landing docks, while the two Shanty Town merchants are located directly East.

Once Paradis has been unlocked, its lower section is home to five merchants spread across its various sub-zones. Finally, Northern Paradis has the last set of three merchants, who are spread out in an equidistant triangle around the zone edges and who all have loot worth purchasing.

The Best Offense, Claviger's Landing

The middle merchant of the group of three is located on the Claviger's Landing docks. Lynna is the most important vendor of the bunch. She sells a common variant of most armor types available in the game, though I would advise against buying these routinely looted items. I

Be sure to purchase her treasure map, Intimidating Feline Codpiece, which begins a treasure hunt with a unique item reward and is the first of three treasure maps available in Dawnshore.

Her second unique item, Wayfarer's Glove, is not particularly strong but could find use in a shield or fire-damage build.

Valtur's Scavenged Sundries, Claviger's Landing

Valtur, despite the common rarity of his stock, I still found the vendor useful because of his proximity to Dawnshore's starting point. For players leaving Fort Northreach without their weapon of choice, Valtur has nearly every weapon type available at his location on the docks. While most weapons at the common rarity are frequent loot drops, if you can't wait to try out a new weapon after leaving Northreach, Valtur has you covered.

Good For The Soul, Claviger's Landing

Beyond Dagherda's interesting subplot with the nearby Valtur, she is also the first merchant to buy potions and food from. Among her stock are common cooking recipe ingredients and a few pre-cooked options. Of note, Salted Trout and Cooked Alabaster provide a nice 70 health regen for only six gold, while Murkbrew, a drink with a long-lasting intellect buff, may be well worth it for aspiring wizards.

The Winding Serpent, Shantytown

Ryna, the shopkeeper of this ground-level Shantytown tavern, offers a small selection of drinks. Stocking up on grog is never bad, as it cures poison, bleeding, and elemental accumulations. Fruitful Wine provides a +2 constitution and a 5% damage reduction buff, which doesn't feel particularly useful. Murkbrew, once again, is excellent for casters, while fresh water's 25% movement speed buff can be great for exploring quickly.

Second Hand Sundries, Shantytown

This unnamed merchant a few doors down from Ryna's tavern in Shantytown has an eclectic collection of items for sale. His amulet, the Rathun Figurine, provides a 10% bonus to fire damage, which may prove useful later in the game or with a grimoire of embers. Certainly, buy out his stock of lockpicks and maybe a cooked rabbit, which provides 150 health regen for nine gold.

Clinic Extras, Paradis: Underbelly

The first location you'll encounter within Paradis, Liviana sells a small assortment of restorative items in her clinic on the border of Paradis's Underbelly and istration District. With a stock of five for both potion types, Liviana will likely be your source for potion restocking after a difficult fight. Alls Leaf Tea is also an excellent essence restoration item attached to a 20% max essence buff: a great pick for spell casters.

The Grinning Balarok, Paradis: Underbelly

Located on the eastern side of the Paradis Underbelly, this seedy tavern mainly sells drinks. Fine Aedyran Mead is an option for ranged players, giving some perception and essence. Otherwise, the fine arquebus is a decent option if you want to use the two-handed rifle, as, unfortunately, there's no unique version of the weapon type to be found in Dawnshore.

Protection, Paradis: Market District

Gweneth operates her shop, Protections, a few stalls down from her more magically inclined twin in Paradis's Market District, right in the middle of the city. Despite the name, Gweneth's shop goes well beyond protection, offering a Fine Quality assortment of nearly every weapon and armor type. If you don't want to engage with item crafting and upgrading, buying a fine weapon or armor from Gweneth is a good way to stay scaled with your enemies.

Might Through Magic, Paradis: Market District

Merylin has a different philosophy on gearing than her twin sister, with her nearby shop in the Market District having a host of magic-based items. Her grimoire of greater elements is a standout, along with her primary use of selling nearly every enchanting material. Unfortunately, her unique offerings are a let-down, with a simple grimoire and a defensive element-resistant light armor option.

Desperate Measures, Paradis: Apothecaries Shop

Despite Grysca's relevance to certain Paradis happenings, his shop is not particularly helpful. Located in the Pearl District slightly north of the Mermaid's Den, Desperate Measures provides lockpicks and potions, which are always nice to stock up on, but nothing else that's worth purchasing.

Extremely Legal Goods, Northern Paradis

Kerdhed Colen's back alley stall, "cutty" nickname, and slick mustache do not sell a great picture for Extremely Legal Goods. Worse yet, Cutty's best item is, in fact, Kith Meat. Morals aside, kith meat offers a 20% damage boost to all Kith, a pretty hefty bonus that can be applied to most humanoid enemies. Blackwing Boots are a solid runner-up, offering a point of dexterity and increased dodge distance. The Disappointer Pistol, sadly, is simply outclassed by Caeroc's Pride, one of Avowed's best early items.

Sanza's Makeshift Emporium, Northern Paradis; High Market

Sanza's Emporium, right around the corner from Northern Paradis's High Market Gate, is the one shop you absolutely do not want to miss. If you intend to find Woedica's totems, the hints provided by Fragment of the Scales are essential. Beetle Bulwark is one of the most interesting uniques for sale in Dawnshore, spawning a beetle on a successful parry, while the treasure map offers its own strong, unique item. The collection of enchanting materials is also nothing to scoff at, an assortment of items on par with Might Through Magic.

Paradisan Military Surplus

Last but not least is the Paradisan Military Surplus shop, located right next to Ondra's Temple at the top of Northern Paradis. The Long Touch, the unique weapon on sale, is one of the best bows in all of Avowed and is the premier selection for stealth-based builds. Wayfarer's Armor is also a nice choice for heavy armor enthusiasts as it has a 10% movement speed enchantment, saving a lot of time as you traverse the world. This shop is another must-visit location, and it shares this trait with its three Northern Paradis compatriots.

Best Vendor Weapons, Armor, Clothing, & Accessories In Dawnshore

The Essentials

The first thing to note about these shops is that the vast majority of items for sale can be found by exploration in Avowed. The only time I would recommend buying generic weapons or armor from these shops is if you really want to play with a specific type of weapon or armor class and have not found them by exploring. Additionally, buying Fine Quality materials is a huge money sink. You're far better off buying crafting materials and upgrading unique armor and weapons.

With this in mind, stick to the unique weapons and armor on sale. Beetle's Bulwark and The Long Touch are fantastic options with unique enchantments that are well worth their price. The Rathun Figurine is also a great option, particularly in any fire build, and can be paired with Wayfarer's Gloves for an explosive start. Even something like the Disappointer can be a fun option despite its damage decrease. After buying the Avowed essentials: maps, lockpicks, and potions, feel free to experiment with the variety of unique weapons and armor sold by Dawnshore's merchants.
