During the "Steel Resolve" quest in Avowed's unique weapons.
This decision will also depend on your attitude toward the Inquisitor, the Aedyran Ambassador, and the Steel Garrote, and whether you want to help the Aedyrans take control of Avowed's Living Lands. Ranger Dorso's motivations are clear, and your companions aren't going to approve if you end up taking her side. After all is said and done, you have one of three choices to make: help Ranger Dorso, send her into exile, or fight her to the death. The route you take here and the ensuing conversation with the other Rangers will resolve the quest and determine your reward. Here's a look at whether you should kill, spare, or exile Ranger Dorso in Avowed.
What Happens If You Spare Ranger Dorso In Avowed
Your Friends Won't Like It, But There's Some Gear In It For You
Sparing Ranger Dorso comes with some interesting consequences, and can be done in a few different ways. The first option is to go all in with her and tell her you want to help her prepare Fior for Aedyran control. This is the only way to receive the Traitor's Trust amulet in Avowed, which increases Resolve by two. Helping her will also result in being shamed by Kai, and has further story implications depending on how you handle the Steel Garrote in the area. Asking Ranger Dorso whether the Ambassador or Inquisitor Lödwyn are privy to her schemes reveals that the Steel Garrote are nearby.
What you decide to do with the Steel Garrote in Emerald Stair will have major implications for Fior mes Ivèrno, and the decision needs to be made before you enter Naku Tedek with Giatta.
The alternative to helping Ranger Dorso is sending her into exile. In this scenario, you do not receive the amulet as a reward, and you have more or less sealed her fate anyway, as the Rangers are going to track her down regardless. In both of the above situations, you can acquire the main reward for the "Steel Resolve" quest, One Last Trick, a unique arquebus that ricochets bullets at nearby enemies, and how you do so will affect your companions as well. Whether you exiled or helped Ranger Dorso, the next step is returning to Ranger Acierno and Massoni back at the Ranger headquarters.
If you helped Dorso, you can choose to lie to the Rangers back at headquarters: either blame things on Casagrada or tell them you couldn't figure it out. The only way to not receive the arquebus is to choose to help Dorso, then rat her out anyway - you'll have to lie and say she's dead, and your explanations don't merit a reward. If you exiled Dorso, you can tell the Rangers she's on the lam and still receive the reward. Helping Ranger Dorso and lying to the Rangers will only matter if you don't prevent the Steel Garrote from completely razing Fior mes Ivèrno.
What Happens If You Kill Ranger Dorso In Avowed
You'll Get Your Companions' Approval, Plus A Decent Dagger
It's pretty obvious from Kai's dialogue interactions during your conversation with Ranger Dorso that he is not a fan. While exiling her might be the most moral decision, it has the fewest awards, and killing her is simply more straightforward.
Ranger Dorso will be a somewhat challenging fight if you aren't leveled up or haven't improved your gear sufficiently, but she ultimately resorts to quick, close-range attacks with her daggers. After taking her down, you can loot the exceptional-quality dagger off her corpse, as well as an Essence Potion and some silver. You'll also receive the arquebus as a reward for completing the quest.
You Should Kill Ranger Dorso Unless You Are Taking The "Evil" Route
Traitors Don't Deserve Mercy In The Living Lands
Ultimately, the easiest and most straightforward option is to kill Ranger Dorso outright, as this will upset the fewest number of people. The Traitor's Trust unique accessory item isn't that great of an item, and the incentives for helping her out are minimal. You can acquire the One Last Trick unique arquebus whether you kill or spare her, but the additional exceptional-quality dagger is more valuable than the Amulet and can be sold for significantly more Skeyt if you don't plan on breaking it down for parts or using it. Sparing or helping Ranger Dorso only makes sense if you plan to take the "evil" path.

Should You Spare Or Kill Ygwulf In Avowed?
As you leave Dawnshore in Avowed, you'll run into Ygwulf, your would-be assassin when you first entered Paradis, but should you kill him or spare him?
The only reason to spare her is if you plan to encourage the Inquisitor and ultimately help the Aedyrans conquer the Living Lands and bring them under the emperor's control. This isn't the most popular route, and the gameplay options certainly discourage it in many ways, particularly the scolding you'll receive from your companions. There are no major consequences for killing Ranger Dorso, even if you do decide to take the evil path, since neither the Ambassador nor the Inquisitor have any knowledge of her existence. That's why you should kill Ranger Dorso in Avowed and make everyone happy - except for Ranger Dorso, of course.
