Avowed offers many different options for creating a character, but no matter the build, everyone should always take one specific Ranger skill. Although this might sound like it would take away from optimizing non-ranger classes, Avowed makes it incredibly easy to respec ability points. This means players can use this Ranger skill while they need it and then dump it later in favor of more class-appropriate skills.
Another nice thing about Avowed is that it doesn’t lock players out of taking skills from certain trees. Players can easily multiclass between options like Wizard and Ranger without much trouble. This means players can grab the best Ranger skill that applies to all classes without having to sink too many points into an otherwise unhelpful skill tree.
Avowed's Scavenger Skill Makes Crafting Gear Easier
Scavenger Gives Players Extra Upgrade Material
Players can take the Scavenger skill from the Ranger skill tree at level five. This skill gives players extra Upgrade Material when picking up herbs. Each weapon and armor upgrade grade in Avowed requires at least one weapon-type-specific material and a generic upgrade herb matching its tier. By having the Scavenger skill, players will ensure they aren’t running out of upgrade material for their weapons and armor. This skill is best taken early, so players aren’t missing out on extra materials.

Should You Accept Or Reject Sapadal’s Power In Avowed?
You’ll need to make choices that have consequences throughout Avowed, so when you’re asked to accept a piece of Sapadal’s power, should you do it?
Scavenger also has a second rank, which unlocks at level eight, which means Upgrade Materials costs 25% less when buying them. Although the second rank of the skill isn’t as impactful as the first, since it doesn’t increase the overall available amount of materials, it can still help players save gold and make upgrading their gear easier. Every class uses gear of some kind, and almost all gear can benefit from upgrades. This makes Scavenger a valuable skill for all players, regardless of class.
Avowed Allows Players To Respec Once They Have The Best Gear
Players Can Respec At Any Time Using Gold
Although Scavenger will help players through the earlier sections of Avowed, it will become less relevant as the game progresses. Once players are fully kitted, they will no longer need Upgrade Material as much. Luckily, Avowed makes it incredibly easy to respec a character and the skill tree at any point in the game.
Simply go to the abilities page, and there will be an option to respec for a certain amount of gold. While the amount of gold does increase with each level, it’s never so expensive that it will be a considerable drawback. When players are gearing up to fight Avowed’s final boss, or just once they’re happy with their loadout, they can easily respec off Scavenger and add those points onto a skill for their class.
