Former Bachelor lead Colton Underwood has come out as gay and is opening up about his struggles coming to with his sexuality. The news comes less than a year after he and his ex-girlfriend, who he met on the show, Cassie Randolph, broke up. The former couple's relationship began to make headlines last fall when Cassie filed a restraining order against Colton after finding a tracking device on her car and allegations of stacking.

Colton became The Bachelor in 2019 after competing for Becca Kufrin's heart on a relationship with Tia Booth but Colton ultimately never felt a real connection with her. After appearing on the many Bachelor spin0ffs, Colton thought he found the love of his life when he met Cassie. While the pair were together for over a year, their relationship wasn't made to last.

In an exclusive interview with Robin Roberts from Good Morning America, Colton Underwood spoke out about his sexuality and has revealed he is gay. He said to Robin, "I've ran from myself for a long time. I've hated myself for a long time ... and I'm gay. And I came to with that earlier this year and have been processing it. And the next step in all of this was sort of letting people know." The 29-year-old added that he is also in the "happiest and healthiest" place he had ever been. He even opened up about contemplating taking his own life while living in Los Angeles. Colton said he woke up one morning, not thinking he would make it to the next day.

However, he did not forget to mention Cassie, who he met on The Bachelor. The couple went through a very messy breakup last fall, which led to her said he was sorry and wishes he could have been courageous enough to fix himself before he "broke anybody else."

"As firm believers in the power of love, we celebrate Colton’s journey in the LGBTQIA+ community every step of the way.
