Andrew, 27, caught The Bachelorette Katie Thurston's attention when he exited in a fancy vehicle, and greeted her in a British accent. Although his accent was fake, his connection with Katie turned out to be very real. On a group date, Andrew and Katie bonded over their similar childhood experiences. After Andrew opened up about the strong women who were instrumental in raising him, Katie awarded Andrew the group date rose. His connection with Katie continued to grow, and early in Katie's season, Bachelor in Paradise.

Who Is Bachelor Nation's Andrew Spencer

The Chicago native has had a few unconventional jobs. For example, his time playing football for the Dacia Vienna Vikings (as a defensive back and running back), saw him splitting his time between America and Vienna, Austria. After ing in 2019, Andrew became a staple member of the team, and helped the Vikings to win an Austrian title series in 2020. However, he had to miss three games during the 2021 season, in order to film The Bachelorette, and ultimately left the team to continue searching for love on Bachelor in Paradise. Andrew says that his coach and teammates were ive of his choice to appear on the shows.

Andrew Impressed Katie But Lost Out On Love

Playing American football in Europe gives Andrew a unique perspective on the sport, and the opportunity to travel often. Before beginning his professional sports career, Andrew was a defensive back for the Division II school Winona State in Winona, Minnesota (via American Football International). There, he honed his offensive skills, which would prepare him for his future career. Andrew also comes from a family of football stars, as his cousin is Clay Harbor, who played on various NFL teams over the course of his eight-year career. Clay, who appeared on The Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise himself, nominated Andrew for the show, and most likely provided invaluable advice while Andrew was preparing for his reality television debut.

Although Katie's season is long over, Andrew has played an important role in Bachelor Nation over the last few years. His initial season was plagued with drama among the contestants, as several men (including Karl Smith and Thomas Jacobs) were accused of being on the show for self-promotion, Andrew was a bright spot for viewers.

While he has not made any formal announcements about appearances on other reality TV shows, he is slated to appear in an interactive show, "The Bachelor Live." Performances are scheduled for April 7-8, 14-15, and 21-22, at Talking Stick Resort in Scottsdale, Arizona. He's also been sharing his thoughts on the best Bachelor franchise looks, and rated Gabby Windey's black crop top and skirt outfit highly. However, his top pick was Ethan Kang, when he wore a gray-blue jacket with a chain necklace and white shoes. Andrew is still claiming the spotlight, although his life is always changing.
