The Bad Boys for Life end credits offers up some tantalizing storylines for the franchise's future. Mike Lowrey (Will Smith) and Marcus Burnett (Martin Lawrence) return in the long-awaited sequel, directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah. Bad Boys for Life throws the two partners' lives into disarray when a mystery assassin guns down Mike. After a six-month recovery, Mike and Marcus team up with a group of tech-loving millennial cops called Advanced Miami Metro Operations (AMMO) to track down and stop the ruthless assassin.

Things get complicated, however, when, in a massive Bad Boys for Life plot twist, Mike realizes that the assassin, Armando (Jacob Scipio), is actually his biological son. While deep undercover in a Mexican drug cartel, before he was partnered with Marcus, Mike had an affair with drug lord Isabel Aretas (Kate del Castillo), who is now using her son to do the cartel's dirty work. At the end of the movie, Armando saves Mike's life, even though doing so means sacrificing his freedom and going to prison.

It should come as no surprise that Armando going to prison wouldn't be the last the franchise would see of him. In the first Bad Boys For Life mid-credit scene, Mike visits his son in prison. Armando says that he accepts the fact that he has built up a debt and needs to pay for his crimes. Mike then offers Armando an opportunity to pay off some of that debt, and he asks if he is interested. Armando looks at the folder Mike is carrying and agrees. It seemed to be the perfect setup for the sequel.

Bad Boys for Life also has a second mid-credits scene, though this one is more about laughs than a sequel set-up. It's essentially a deleted scene from the movie's third act after Marcus learns that Mike had a son with Isabel and is (quite rightfully) scolding him for it. The two are on a plane and an unfortunate nearby enger gets pulled into Marcus' ribbing session when Marcus turns to him and asks, "Would you f**k a witch without a condom?"

What Could Bad Boys For Life Mid-Credits Scene Mean For The Future?

Armando Has A Chance To The Team

Armando in prison in Bad Boys for Life end credits

Bad Boys for Life's first end-credits scene sets up a future sequel where Mike and Armando work together as a father-son team. The details of the case and the deal that's on the table are left vague, which means that Bad Boys 4 could go in a lot of different directions. With Mike and Marcus now leading AMMO and Armando on hand to give them insight into the criminal mind (and perhaps use some of his lethal assassin skills), there's a clear set-up for another sequel.

By adding in Armando and the AMMO team, the movie franchise could end up morphing into something like Fast & Furious

Given that Armando only learns the truth about his father at the end of Bad Boys for Life, it would be interesting to see how their relationship develops over the course of the next movie - and what the original bad boy duo of Mike and Marcus get up to next. The idea is that by adding in Armando and the AMMO team, the movie franchise could end up morphing into something like Fast & Furious, with a larger cast of characters and bigger adventures down the road.

Armando Becomes A Key Ally Of His Dad

Will Smith as Detective Sergeant Michael Eugene "Mike" Lowrey with Jacob Scipio as Armando Aretas in Bad Boys For Life (2020)

Bad Boys: Ride or Die perfectly follows up the Bad Boys for Life end-credits scene, with a small alteration. The movie follows up on Armando's killing of Mike and Marcus' beloved captain, Howard, in the last movie. However, he has posthumously been framed as a dirty cop, and Howard leaves a message for Mike and Marcus that lets them know there are moles in the department, and those moles run as deep as the FBI, DEA, and the prison systems. Mike then brings Armando back into the story when they try to protect him.

As a result, Mike and Marcus become fugitives as well. Armando was also working for the cartel and killed Howard on orders of his mother. Now, the moles in the law enforcement agencies claim that Howard, Mike, and Marcus all work for the same cartel as dirty cops. This leads to Mike and Marcus working with their team (AMMO) and Armando, who believes he can identify who is framing his dad. In the end, Armando finally pays his dues and possibly gets a fresh start in the Bad Boys: Ride or Die final scenes.
