Divine Intervention acts as a one-time use spell in Baldur's Gate 3 that only the Cleric class can get, making it a rare and powerful magic that could save your party from danger. Calling upon the help of a god, there are four different versions of this magic that you are able to pick. Including gifts like a massive blast of radiant damage on your enemies, the provided aid rewards those who have been faithful to the heavens.

The Divine Intervention spell is added to a Cleric character when they reach level 10, acting as a class feature. This means that you do not have to prepare the magic once you finish a long rest in Baldur's Gate 3, it remains available at all times. However, the official description for Divine Intervention reads "Once used, this can never be used again.", encouraging you to hold onto this spell until the right moment.

You or any other Cleric character in the party can use Divine Intervention like any other spell, taking an action on your turn to cast. When you decide to spend someone's Intervention in Baldur's Gate 3, you can choose between four variants, which each do something very different.

Divine Intervention

Description

Opulent Revival

Resurrect fallen companions with half their Hit Points and restore all nearby allies as if they had taken a long rest.

Sunder the Heretical

Bring forth a radiant cataclysm upon nearby enemies for 8-80 radiant damage.

Arm Thy Servant

Grants you a legendary weapon forged in the fires of your holy bond.

Golden Generosity

Provides you with a rich bounty of potions of camp supplies.

Every Divine Intervention has the potential to be the saving grace of your party, especially Opulent Revival and Sunder the Heretical. For example, challenging the devil Raphael in the House of Hope is the perfect opportunity to use an Intervention to bring down radiant damage on the difficult infernal foe. Those who choose Arm Thy Servant are given the Devotee's Mace, a magical weapon that has the ability to heal allies every turn.

As a Cleric herself, the companion Shadowheart naturally gets a use of Divine Intervention at level 10 if she remains in your party.

There are ways of getting more than one use of Divine Intervention, but only when you respec characters from your party into the Cleric class. While having four Clerics with Interventions can be done, it might be difficult to take on other trials found along your journey. Once you get Divine Intervention in Baldur's Gate 3, make sure to spend it wisely without wasting it on something unimportant.
