The show also reveals how difficult it is for retired pros to get themselves back together and find a stable job, as most of them suffer concussions that are beyond repair. There are a number of characters in this five season-long series, and here, we are going to take a look at the ten best of them.

Julie

Julie is Charles' wife and she is a doctor by profession. She is very caring for her husband and almost always s him in every decision he takes. It is like she is the most ive partner anyone could fish for.

Even when Charles suffers not one but two heart attacks, Julie does not panic; instead, she remains calm and deals with the situation superbly. Charles owes a lot of his post-retirement success to his wife.

Mr. Anderson

Mr. Anderson is the boss of Spencer and Joe, and one of the top officials at ASM. He is, almost always, rude to his employees, but that is something which makes him funny.

He knows how to handle the business and whenever someone disappoints, he is soft and understanding enough to give them a second chance. Spencer gets a lot of from Mr. Anderson during his tough times after retirement from the NFL.

Lance

One of the most charismatic characters of the series is Lance, who meets Spencer and Joe further down their careers. He is a charismatic man, who can make you agree on almost everything.

It is that trait of his that fools both Spencer and Joe into thinking that his company, SportsX, is destined for greatness. While Spencer falls out with Lance, Joe forgives him and they work together in the final season.

Vernon

Vernon is a big-time NFL player who represents the Dallas Cowboys and he is a typical family man, who has to take care of every one, along with his friend Reggie. Like any young man, Vernon is confused about what to do with the kind of money he makes and that is where Spencer and Joe help him.

After some time, he and Reggie figure out a career for each other (eSports) after Vernon retires. He is a good man, innocent, and never backs down from helping somebody in need.

Reggie

Vernon's best friend Reggie seems to be annoying when he is first introduced in the series. Spencer feels Reggie just uses Vernon for the money but that is not the case as Reggie is clearly family to Vernon.

Even though he does not have a job, Reggie helps Vernon strike some sponsorship deals. And when he becomes a bit mature, Reggie wants to stand on his own feet and finds eSports as the destination for which he is looking.

Jason

Jason is the agent everyone would love to have. He is super good at his job, but quite unbelievably bad when it comes to personal relationships. He is a really good friend to both Joe and Spencer, although he is caught in crossroads when the two had a falling out. Jason also brings some comic relief to the show, due to his impeccable wit and ability to trash talk.

All in all, Jason is a complete package; he's complicated, loves his job, and lives a fancy lifestyle.

Charles

Charles depicts the post-retirement life of an NFL player. He is a very sweet man, who does not ever get himself involved in quarrels, instead, he usually helps resolve problems. He is the calmest in the series and he provides advice to Spencer, Ricky, and Joe on different sorts of things. Charles follows his ion as he returns to the NFL for one last time, before taking over as the GM of the Rams.

While he struggles to deal with LA, there are no complaints from him to the board. Even when he suffers two heart attacks, he is very calm about the situation.

Ricky

Ricky is one of Spencer's closest friends, at least at the start of the series, and he plays for various teams throughout the show's five seasons long run. He is a very good man at heart as he agrees to lend Spencer $1 Million to buy ASM. His father Dennis and best friend TTD help him stay on the right track when he suffers a career-ending concussion.

Still, he navigates his way through the radio field and earns himself a well-paid gig. He also takes a full-blown interview of Spencer, which airs in bits throughout the fifth season.

Spencer

Spencer is the protagonist of the story. He is a former NFL player, who works as the financial advisor for ASM, working under Joe and Mr. Anderson.

But, when he is fired from the company, he works his way through to the top, becoming the owner and GM of Kansas City Chiefs. Spencer made a lot of mistakes and let down a lot of his friends but in the end, he realizes them and its that he was wrong.

Joe

Joe is Spencer's partner in crime and he is the head of the Sports Division of Anderson Financial Management. When Spencer first s the company, he is given a lot of from Joe and it is his patience with Spencer that eventually pays off.

When both of them have a falling out, Joe goes on his own merry way, building SportsX with Lance. Arguably, Joe does a better job than what most viewers expected him to.
