The trailer begins with Kaley Cuoco's Ava as a new parent focusing fully on her family and putting her true crime fascination behind her until, however, a series of new murders pulls her back in. The Plot Thickens

Based on a True Story season 1 ended with Ava and Nathan's true crime empire collapsing online as they face criticism for giving a serial killer a platform, leading the West Side Ripper to take control of content creation. The season 2 trailer picks up with Ava and Nathan three months into parenthood. Ava is focusing fully on her family, putting her true crime fascination behind her, and resuming her work as a real estate agent, while Nathan is focusing on coaching private tennis clients.

For a while, things seem calm as Ava finds distraction in her TikTok habit and new friend Drew (Melissa Fumero), while Nathan is committed to his tennis career and reconnecting with his plumber friend, Matt. However, the Based on a True Story season 2 trailer reveals that the return of the West Side Ripper and a series of new murders pulls Ava back into true crime. She begins to suspect that Matt may be behind them, and her younger sister Tory, who begins dating Matt, may also be in danger.

With Ava diving back into the world of true crime that she tried to leave behind, Based on a True Story season 2 promises more of the same that made season 1 such a binge-worthy experience.
