WARNING: May Contain Potential Spoilers for DC vs. Vampires: World War V #6!We’ve all seen and read countless storylines that pit Batgirl—and I, for one, am absolutely here for it. That said, I’ll it I’m already booing and throwing tomatoes at Barbara Gordon for being the most cowardly cheater to ever exist.
...there’s something undeniably poetic about Supergirl, the embodiment of hope and sunlight, defeating a vampiric, sun-phobic Wonder Woman.
Matthew Rosenberg and Otto Schmidt’s #6 finally delivers the epic showdown the series has been building toward, as Green Arrow’s human resistance clashes with Vampire Queen Barbara Gordon’s undead army. Both sides bring their full might to the battlefield, complete with a roster of heavy hitters, including Supergirl as the champion of the human resistance.
True to the Super-Family’s values, Kara first seeks a peaceful resolution with Vampire Queen Barbara Gordon. But luckily for fans craving a no-holds-barred fight, Batgirl wastes no time rejecting Supergirl’s offer, tossing it right back in her face.
Supergirl & Batgirl Get Epic Face-Off in DC vs. Vampires Universe

As the two sides prepare for an all-out war, Supergirl breaks away from the human resistance and approaches Batgirl, who stands watching the impending battle unfold. Kara reminds Barbara of their shared past, where mutual respect once bound them, and appeals to that history in hopes of avoiding conflict. However, as Kara presents her case, Batgirl cuts her off with a cold remark: “This is not the groveling I hoped for.” Her words make it painfully clear that she isn’t interested in peace but had only listened in the hope of seeing Supergirl beg.
Batgirl’s arrogance instantly heightens the tension, prompting Kara to respond with steel in her voice: “You want me to grovel? Then you have truly forgotten who I am.” In a display of power, Kara unleashes her heat vision, carving a blazing line in the snow and issuing a stark warning: if Batgirl or her forces cross it, they "will pay.” While the gesture does nothing to prevent the war, it delivers an electrifying moment between two of the most iconic women in the Super and Bat-Families. This face-off becomes even more monumental when considering that they aren’t just Kara Zor-El and Barbara Gordon anymore—they’re humanity’s last hope and a ruthless queen.

I'm Officially Booing Batgirl: ‘Batgirl vs. Supergirl’ Turns Into ‘Wonder Woman vs. Supergirl’
Comic Comes From DC vs. Vampires: World War V #6 (2025) – Art by Otto Schmidt
After Supergirl’s fiery declaration of promised retribution, the highly anticipated Supergirl vs. Batgirl battle takes an unexpected turn, quickly shifting into Supergirl vs. Wonder Woman. While not entirely surprising, this move instantly had me booing Batgirl for taking the coward’s way out—sicking one of her 'dogs' on Kara instead of facing her directly. Say what you will about Batman and Superman’s legendary face-offs, but one thing has always remained true: the Dark Knight faces the Man of Steel head-on, never hiding behind someone else to do his dirty work.
I was already not a huge fan of Vampire Queen Barbara Gordon, but her decision to immediately send Wonder Woman into battle on her behalf completely dried up whatever respect I had left for her. ittedly, it was a tactically smart move—Wonder Woman is arguably one of the few beings capable of matching Supergirl’s strength—but still, I would have loved to see Barbara channel her inner Bat and take an active role in battling Kara herself, especially given her newfound strength as a physically enhanced vampire. That said, I can’t deny that watching Supergirl and Wonder Woman face off in a fight to the death will be epic.
Okay, I’ll it It: Wonder Woman vs. Supergirl Is Beyond Epic (& I’m Dying to Know Who Wins)
Comic Comes From DC vs. Vampires: World War V #6 (2025) – Art by Otto Schmidt
DC vs. Vampires: World War V #6 ended with Wonder Woman and Supergirl still locked in an intense battle, leaving fans with no clear victor yet. Needless to say, I’m on the edge of my seat, counting down the days until issue #7 releases in March to finally answer the burning question of who would win in a battle to the death between Wonder Woman and Supergirl. Under normal circumstances, I’d put my money on Wonder Woman, but I think her vampire arrogance and general villain mindset could be her downfall, giving Kara the edge to come out on top. And honestly, I’m rooting for it—there’s something undeniably poetic about Supergirl, the embodiment of hope and sunlight, defeating a vampiric, sun-phobic Wonder Woman.
