Speculation about the possibility of a live-action cosplayer proves it could be absolutely awesome.

Terry McGinnis holds the distinction of being one of the few DC characters who has become popular and did not debut in the comics. Batman Beyond first aired in 1999 to both critical and fan acclaim. The story takes place in the future as a disgruntled Bruce Wayne has given up saving Gotham. But when a young teenager named Terry McGinnis stumbles upon the Batcave, he takes up the mantle of Batman with a new state-of-the-art suit and Bruce Wayne acting as his mentor. The show keeps fans entertained by both bringing back old school Batman villains while also creating a brand new rogues' gallery for this new era of crime fighting.

Ever since the show premiered, rumors have swirled around a live-action adaptation of the show. Fans have even been eager to see such a movie, especially if Michael Keaton were to be cast as an elderly and bitter Bruce Wayne. One issue has been how to depict Terry's futuristic Batsuit. It's not an easy costume to adapt, but cosplayer the Batman Beyond show.

Because the suit is so perfect for animation it has been rare to see cosplayers attempt a realistic version of it in person. But this rendition of the costume, which has taken several liberties, shows that it's possible to adapt and accommodate this futuristic costume for filming purposes. Even more than that, comic fans have lauded many cosplayers for making incredible comic/animation accurate versions of suits that are even better than those made by big budget studios.

With so many different actors having portrayed the Dark Knight already, fans are hungry for a Batman Beyond film now more than ever. Both comic and casual fans are in the midst of a Bruce Wayne fatigue, so to see Terry McGinnis become Batman in a new live-action film, with Michael Keaton no less, is exactly what the fan base needs right now. And hopefully, as more and more cosplayers seek to develop awesome versions of the Batman Beyond suit like this one, then maybe studio execs will take notice and green light this awesome property for production.
