The first glimpse that readers get of Wonder Woman strongly resembles a memorable scene from Zack Snyder’s divisive Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, in which Diana first encounters other superheroes through her laptop. Batman Beyond #50 opens with a cloaked Wonder Woman standing in front of a monitor with surveillance footage showing Batman supposedly killing a guy. Audiences critiqued the moment in the film for feeling like a forced tie-in ment for the eventual Justice League. In both instances, Diana’s habit of watching other superheroes from behind a screen serves nothing but expositional purposes.

Although Batman v Superman has numerous infamous moments which continue to be discussed amongst fans, the implications of this moment in Batman Beyond #50 play out much more quickly than in film.
