The popular casting of Alan Ritchson as The Brave and The Bold movie remains in development at DC Studios, the DCU franchise has yet to cast its new Bruce Wayne, with numerous actors being suggested for the iconic role. However, many actors have also shared how much they would love to play Batman in Gunn's franchise, including Ritchson.

DCU fans are rallying behind Ritchson, so is one of his Reacher costars; ScreenRant's Owen Danoff recently chatted with Olivier Richters, and Ritchson's Batman casting concept came up during the interview. Richters, who plays Paul van Hoven in Reacher season 3, backed Ritchson's DCU casting while sharing some key details about why the former Smallville star would be perfect as the Dark Knight:

Olivier Richters: Batman is always the combination of being smart, having money, but also the physical thing, and somehow Reacher has it as well. I don't want to say Reacher is autistic, but he has a way of speaking and looking, and I think Alan showed how diverse he can be in other roles. I forgot the last war movie he did, [but] he was so different with that accent. So, with his physical ability and having experience with playing a smart guy, I think he can really play Batman. I think he also has the face for it. He has the good jaw and the hairline. I can see that it absolutely can work. I don’t know if it's true, but I read that he would even do it for free. I don't think he should, but that just tells us how much he wants it.

What Olivier Richters' Comments Mean For Alan Ritchson's DCU Batman Chances

While Batman obviously has a different meaning to every fan, it's always crucial to that there is a reason Gotham's famous vigilante is one of the most beloved heroes in the entire DC canon. Richters is absolutely correct in that Batman comes with many layers, as he is just as much about being one of the greatest crime fighters as well as one of the most brilliant detectives in DC Comics. Ritchson as the DCU's Batman, is not only about his impressive physique but also about giving those other character traits just as much dedication.

Even though Jack Reacher may not be a traditional superhero like Batman, there are definitely a lot of similarities between the two characters, which Ritchson has been showing throughout the entire run of Reacher. That is why many fans are getting more behind the idea of him being the next actor to star as Batman on the big screen. As the DCU begins its Batman casting, time will tell if Ritchson will be one of the actors to be considered for The Brave and The Bold.

Our Take On Olivier Richters' Batman Comments

Alan Ritchson as Jack Reacher, looking shocked, in season 3

From everything included in Richters's comparison between Reacher and Batman, there are definitely valid parallels between the two fictional characters, and Ritchson is absolutely someone DC Studios should consider for The Brave and The Bold and beyond. With Ritchson also being no stranger to the DC world, after having appeared in both Smallville and Titans, the DCU would be a solid third outing for him. But for now, fans will have to wait and see if Ritchson ends up ing the DCU as Batman.

Reacher season 3 is now streaming on Prime Video.

The DC Universe is one of the biggest comic book franchises and often competes with Marvel. DC Comics started as National Allied Publications, founded by Malcolm Wheeler-Nicholson in 1935. Since then, the franchise has exploded with thousands of comic books, movies, TV shows, and video games. 2013 marked the beginning of the most recent iteration of the superheroes, with Zack Snyder introducing Henry Cavill as Superman. After several movies with mixed reviews, DC underwent a soft reboot under the helm of James Gunn and Peter Safran.
