Batman has teamed up with a variety of characters throughout his 80-year history, but one famous paranormal investigator has remained elusive… until now. The Italian comics hero Dylan Dog will be teaming with the Dark Knight this coming March, finally bringing the two celebrated comics characters together after first being announced nearly six years ago.
Published last year in Italy by Sergio Bonelli Editore, DC Comics will be releasing the English translation for the first time, beginning with the first of three issues in March 2024. Check out the solicitation below:

Batman/Dylan Dog Brings Together Two Titans of Comics for the First Time
While he may not be as well known to American readers, Dylan Dog is one of the most popular heroes to come out of the Italian fumetti comics scene. Created in 1986 by Tiziano Sclavi, Dylan Dog investigates supernatural cases out of his apartment on 7 Craven Road in London. Often going up against zombies, vampires, werewolves and even a serial killer or two in his adventures, Dylan Dog regularly teams with his sidekick and roommate Groucho, a Groucho Marx impersonator who disappeared into his personality, as well as his mentor Inspector Bloch, his former supervisor when Dylan worked at Scotland Yard. Summoned by a doorbell that screams whenever it is ringed, Dylan Dog also enjoys playing the clarinet and is a vegetarian.
Superman's Link to Batman's Iconic Bat-Signal Is the Perfect DC Crossover
Batman and Superman are both iconic heroes in their own rights, but it turns out that Superman is responsible for one of Batman's major symbols.
As one of the most popular comics characters in Italy, it makes sense that Dylan Dog would be teamed with Batman for his first international crossover. The two have similar characteristics, and their ing casts complement each other nicely, as Groucho/Alfred and Inspector Bloch/Commissioner Gordon pairings feel like a natural fit for a crossover story. Perhaps most exciting is the teaming of Joker with Professor Xabaras, the longtime enemy of Dylan Dog who revivifies the dead with a special serum and was eventually revealed to be the Nightmare Investigator’s father. The pairing of Xabaras with the Clown Prince of Crime should prove to be a massive threat, and Batman and Dylan Dog will have their hands full in dealing with the villainous teammates.
Batman/Dylan Dog Features Joker and Professor Xabaras Forming A “Hellish Pact”
With a host of other guest stars appearing throughout, Batman/Dylan Dog promises to be a crossover that fans won’t want to miss when the first issue drops in March. And given that Sergio Bonelli previously released two other DC crossovers in Nathan Never/Justice League and Zagor/The Flash, perhaps those will eventually be translated into English by DC Comics as well. Until then, fans will have more than enough to content themselves with thanks to the team-up between Batman and Dylan Dog.
