The two sisters head out to get the weapons to Mila's crew. However, they're pursued by Robin in his powerful Robinmobile. Damian shouts to the two that he has anti-freeze tech built into his Robin costume as he maneuvers to arrest the sisters.

Robin Can't Be Frozen Thanks to the Anti-Freeze Tech in His Suit

Batman and Robin Dick Grayson Frozen

Batman fans may recall just how comical and over-the-top the 1997 film Batman and Robin was. In addition to the curious costuming choices and the numerous ice-based puns delivered by Arnold Schwarzenegger's Mister Freeze, there was one moment that stuck out over how bizarre it was. Early on in the movie, the Dynamic Duo chase down Mister Freeze when an overzealous Robin tries to take on the villain by himself. The Boy Wonder is frozen solid, forcing Batman to let Freeze go while the Dark Knight races against the clock to get Robin unfrozen.

By having the foresight to include anti-freeze tech in his costume, Robin is already prepared for the eventuality of fighting Mister Freeze.

To Robin's credit, he and the rest of the Bat-Family get costumes meant to repel blasts of ice from Mister Freeze's gun later in the film. Thankfully though, Damian is ahead of his foes when it comes to Robin's costume. By having the foresight to include anti-freeze tech in his costume, Robin is already prepared for the eventuality of fighting Mister Freeze. Granted, Damian had the benefit of studying other Robins' previous battles with Freeze, but at least the newest Robin never has to worry the next time someone brandishes a freeze ray at him.

Damian is One of the Most Prepared Robins Ever

Comic book art: Damian Wayne's Robin smirks in a large chair.

Not only is Damian the latest in a long line of Robins, but he’s also Batman’s flesh and blood. Damian knows the value of prepping ahead, even for the most unlikely of circumstances. Is Damian always at risk of being hit by Mister Freeze? No, but it’s not a non-zero chance in a place like Gotham. Robin is thinking several steps ahead and it really saved him during this little encounter with Flatline and her sister. Hopefully, it also helps Damian avoid ever having to go through the same trauma the Boy Wonder experienced in Batman and Robin.

Batman and Robin #8 is available now from DC Comics.
