Zack Snyder has jokingly commented that he would like to see a sequel produced to his 2016 movie Justice League, the two are only connected in the loosest possible sense. As anyone following the ongoing saga of the Justice League Snyder Cut is well aware, Snyder's comment also follows over two years' worth of chatter and social media teases on his part.

When Snyder stepped down from Justice League in May 2017, the movie underwent a major set of reshoots that would reshape the movie into something completely different from what Snyder intended. Though Warner Bros. had maintained that Justice League would adhere to what he had planned, the movie's theatrical release in November 2017 made clear that this was far from the case. The ongoing campaign for the Justice League Snyder Cut would then swiftly emerge, with the past few months of developments seeing it supernova into the mainstream.

Snyder's comments came at the conclusion of his Vero livestream director's commentary for Batman v Superman. In his final comments of the livestream, Snyder said, "You know what? I think they should make a sequel to his movie someday. That would be amazing. That would really be something else." Snyder added, "I want to know what happens to these guys. I mean, don't they eventually, I don't know, form some-" with the feed cutting off before the end of Snyder's sentence. Naturally, Snyder's comments are totally in-sync with the teases he's already made for his unreleased movie.

Since early 2018, Zack Snyder has posted many never-before-seen images and storyboards from the film, which collectively revealed an astronomical contrast between the two versions of Justice League. These have included images of characters deleted from the movie altogether, such as Darkseid, along with story twists like General Swanwick being revealed as Martian Manhunter.

More recently, Snyder and the movie's cast and crew have leaned into these teases like never before. Jason Momoa has beat the drum for its release especially loudly, in addition to confirming he has seen it himself, while Ben Affleck has gone on record to it in multiple interviews. Additionally, Snyder himself has also re-titled the movie as "Zack Snyder's Justice League", releasing a T-shirt and hoodie through Ink to the People bearing the title.

Needless to say, Snyder is clearly being very tongue-in-cheek with his joke about wanting to see a follow-up to Batman v Superman. Despite this, no plans for the Justice League Snyder Cut's release have yet been announced by Warner Bros. However, it's never been clearer that many, many people around the world share Snyder's desire for the story of Batman v Superman to be continued.
