Over the course of its two seasons, the CW's Batwoman adaptation hasn't involved much in the way of birthdays or zodiac signs. For fans who love to compare their own star signs to fictional characters, that might seem like a bit of an oversight. With some examinations of the personalities and motivations of the characters, however, they might also be able to draw their own conclusions about the zodiac signs of the characters.

The one birthday the audience does know for the series is that of Beth and Kate Kane. However, whether or not the two characters actually fit into the traits of the zodiac sign assigned to them is a whole other story.

Aries: Ryan

As the newest person to wear the Bat-logo, Ryan Wilder also ends up with the "youngest" of zodiac signs. Aries is often seen as the sign with the most room to grow, which certainly fits Ryan as she adjusts to her new vigilante role. That's not the only way she fits in with the sign, though.

Aries are the kind of people who plant themselves behind an idea and impulsively go after it. That is exactly how Ryan lives her life. Once she decides something - even if it's a spur-of-the-moment decision - she does it. That means she's the first person to leap into action for those that need help too.

Taurus: Mouse

The sign of Taurus is often associated with stability and stubbornness. Those born under the sign are creatures of comfort. This can manifest in a love for fine art or a love for routine. For Mouse, it's mostly the latter.

Mouse doesn't like it when his world shifts. As he grows up, Alice becomes his whole world. She's the sister his father kidnapped for him, but she becomes his ally against a tyrannical family. When Alice starts to veer from the path the two have already established for themselves in the first season, Mouse becomes jealous of her focus on Batwoman. That doesn't make him any less dependable, though, as he's still willing to carry out every plan she asks.

Gemini: Mary

When Mary is first introduced in season 1, she seems like the average Gotham socialite. She's very concerned with her social media and her appearance. While that is true to a degree, Mary is also primarily concerned with making Gotham a better place and running an underground clinic for its residents. She doesn't just want to be a doctor; Mary wants to help everyone she can.

Mary's ability to switch between bubbly socialite and serious doctor without anyone knowing the difference is an impressive feat. She's the ultimate Gemini: someone who can fit into any social situation, someone who can adapt to stressful situations, and someone with quite a few layers that not everyone gets to see.

Cancer: Safiyah

This villain's name is mentioned quite a bit in the first season, though she doesn't actually appear in the show until season 2. As the ruler of a secret island with a powerful flower, Safiyah can be a hard-edged leader. She's also someone who is led by her emotions.

As Safiyah's right-hand Tatiana points out, several of the Queen's past decisions have been motivated by her own jealousy. She puts Beth and Ocean together so the former can learn to fight and then loses them both to each other. Safiyah's tendency to hold a grudge is very much a Cancer trait. Cancers are very in tune with their emotions - and the emotions of others - making them great at reading people but also unforgiving of betrayals.

Leo: Tommy

Tommy Elliot doesn't spend a lot of time in the show's first season - at least not as himself. Instead, he takes on the guise of Bruce Wayne and fights with Batwoman in both forms. Tommy hates that it's Bruce Wayne who gets all the positive attention amongst Gotham's elite. All he can do is live in Bruce's shadow.

Leos are personable and the life of the party, and though Tommy may go too far, the traits of this noble sign can still be glimpsed in him.

Virgo: Jacob

Jacob Kane is a man who works with military-like precision most of the time. He plans for every eventuality, which has led him to become a respected (and feared) leader of the Crows in Gotham. Both private citizens and the police trust him to keep the city safe.

Jacob's tendency to plan for everything is a Virgo trait. He might not seem like the nurturer that most Virgos are, but he was very close to his daughters despite their differences. Kate tries to follow in his footsteps, Beth/Alice fixates on him giving up on her, and Mary just wants to make him proud.

Libra: Sophie

Some of the Crows believe themselves to be above the law. Sophie doesn't. She makes it her own personal mission to protect the streets of Gotham, even if she's not doing it with a cape and cowl.

Sophie's commitment to justice is very much in line with Libra's tendency to keep their life balanced. While some Libras can be as much of a social butterfly as a Gemini, Sophie is more focused on her work life than her social life. She's well-liked on the job and rises through the ranks very quickly. Sophie also isn't above breaking a few rules in the name of getting justice.

Scorpio: Julia

Scorpios like to play their cards close to the vest, which is why it's easy to think of a fictional spy as one. They tend to keep their own lives mysterious but have a love for unraveling mysteries themselves.

Scorpios also tend to aggressively go after the things they want in life. That might be a job, like Julia taking a place with the crows, or a relationship, like Julia pursuing one with Sophie despite them sharing an ex.

Sagittarius: Ocean

When zodiac enthusiasts think of a Sagittarius, they think of a sense of wanderlust and a love of telling stories. That fits pretty well with the guy who wants to see the world beyond Coryana and who can talk himself out of nearly any bad situation.

Ocean is Safiyah's brother; whether by blood or by her choosing isn't clear. He wants nothing more than freedom from her rule, which he gets when she erases his memories of Beth Kane and allows him to leave.

Capricorn: Luke

Luke is the only person in Gotham (presumably) who knows Bruce Wayne's identity as Batman. He holds a strong loyalty to Bruce, protecting the entrance to the Batcave in an office that no one else would be using. Luke's intelligence allows him to follow in his father's footsteps, developing technology and equipment for the newest Bat-hero.

That loyalty and tendency to hold on to tradition is a Capricorn trait. So is putting up a tough front, as Luke tries to do when going after the people responsible for his father's death. Luke also exemplifies the Capricorn work ethic, never giving up on helping Kate or Ryan in their role as Batwoman.
