Garro Attacks DC

Beast Boy and Cyborg fight the Necrostar and banish it to another dimension. Unfortunately, the mysterious Doctor Hate arrives and wipes Beast Boy's memory. On Earth, Raven cries as she can no longer sense Gar's mind. At the same time, Beast Boy's planet-sized monster form looms over the world, releasing spores that transform everyone into animal hybrids.

Beast Boy's Mind is Gone and All That's Left is Garro

Raven Loses Touch with Beast Boy DC

The Titans were thrust onto the world stage when they took the place of the Justice League after the events of Dark Crisis on Infinite Earths. And while they rose to the occasion, dangers have been brewing in the background. Their old teammate Garth began working with Brother Eternity (née Blood), who infected the hero with a strange alien spore in an attempt to kill the Titans. When that failed, Eternity revealed that he wasn't the Titans' old villain, but a Tamaranean that stole Blood's identity as part of a plan to eradicate the human race.

Beast Boy, or at least his kaiju-sized body, is still alive. But the personality that made Garfield Logan who he was is seemingly gone. Raven was sharing a telepathic connection to help ease Beast Boy's immense burden as he transformed into Garro. But the moment Doctor Hate wiped his mind, Raven lost that connection and cried as she couldn't feel Gar anymore. Beast Boy also seemed well aware of what was happening to him as his personality faded, leaving only a rampaging monster behind. It's not a death in the conventional sense, but the Beast Boy that fans knew and loved is gone.

The Titans Have Just Suffered a Devastating Blow

Raven Confirms Beast Boy is Gone DC

It's not inconceivable that Beast Boy could return as he's suffered potentially life-ending events before. But this is more than just a shot to the head as his entire personality has been blanked. If Raven, one of the greatest telepaths in the DC Universe can't find him, then that doesn't bode well for Garfield. The first and foremost important thing will be stopping Garro from destroying the Earth, but hopefully some magic can counter what Doctor Hate has done. If they can't, then the Titans have officially lost one of their oldest and most beloved allies.
