Players of Players enjoy dueling opponents honorably and discovering all the game has to offer. Collecting records, Mongol artifacts, banners, and sword kits keep players traveling the roads of Tsushima. It would be wise for players to take time to explore and collect the six Mythic Techniques and the four sword stances as they can contribute greatly to how the player approaches and executes encounters with enemies of Tsushima.
The search for the Mythic Techniques is portrayed as a race against the Mongols also searching for the mythical sword skills. Rumors of the techniques and their Mythic Tales are spread across Tsushima and encountering such rumors will initiate side quests for them. One of the most useful techniques is the Heavenly Strike. To obtain the legendary Heavenly Strike skill, players must first defeat the boss, Yasuhira Koga. This guide will provide tips for defeating Yasuhira Koga in Ghost of Tsushima.
How to Defeat Yasuhira Koga in Ghost of Tsushima
While Yasuhira Koga is not an extremely difficult opponent within Ghost of Tsushima, this boss battle ensures players are taking advantage of perfect parries and well-timed dodges. When Yasuhira Koga uses quick attacks, players can break his guard and throw him off balance. This provides players with time to land some heavy attacks on him. When players stagger Yasuhira Koga, he will be thrown off balance and backwards before posing with his hands on his sword. This low pose is a clear indication of his upward strike that can be parried if players have the necessary skills. Otherwise, most players early in the game will need to evade this close-range attack.
Players must also be wary of Yasuhira Koga's unblockable attacks. He may rush players when given distance, or may perform a side strike when in close quarters. Unblockable attacks can be identified by a red indicator that appears on Yasuhira Koga's body, while attacks that can be parried can be identified by a blue indicator. The player can dodge and use heavy attacks to break his stance after he attacks with the blue indicator. However, unblockable, red indicator attacks must be evaded and may be followed up with a heavy follow-up attack from the player. When Yasuhira Koga's health is low the player will be prompted to execute the Heavenly Strike, finishing him off. Players will then acquire the Heavenly Strike ability, putting them one step closer to the way of the Samurai.
