With Beetlejuice 2's cast. While the franchise's future is unclear, the sequel's final moments help provide some insight.

Whereas the original Beetlejuice predominantly tied up loose ends for Lydia and the Deetz family, the story left the possibility of the bio-exorcist's return. That's why the development of a sequel occurred decades before Beetlejuice 2's story finally came to fruition in the last few years. This time around, the narrative centers around three generations of the Deetz family–Astrid, Lydia, and Delia–as they deal with havoc caused by Michael Keaton's Beetlejuice and other threats from the dead. Still, does the long-awaited sequel leave the door open for more?

Beetlejuice 2 Does Not Have A Credits Scene

The Tim Burton Sequel Does Not Feature Any Mid Or Post-Credits Scenes

Rather than follow the current Hollywood trend for popular franchise films, Beetlejuice 2 does not include any kind of credits scenes, but there is a tribute to the movie's cast before the traditional credits begin. The movie concludes with solo credits while showing the main cast, including a fun tribute to a new fan-favorite character that many will enjoy. That said, there won't be any surprises to look for once the real credits start rolling.

While credits scenes and other surprises are worth sticking around for, it's important to remind viewers that it's never truly a waste of time to watch the credits sequence. Especially after the Hollywood labor strikes, honoring all involved in creating a movie from the top to the bottom is never a bad thing.

The Original Beetlejuice Didn't Have Any Credits Surprises

Beetlejuice 2 Follows The Approach Of The Original Movie

The lack of a credits scene for Beetlejuice 2 may not be a surprise, considering the original Beetlejuice also didn't have any credits surprises. At the end of Beetlejuice, Lydia came home from school to share good news about getting an A on her math test. To celebrate, she convinced Adam and Barbara to use their ghost powers for a special dance sequence featuring Harry Belafonte's "Jump in the Line (Shake, Senora)," a significant highlight on Beetlejuice's 1988 soundtrack. The sequence also cut to Beetlejuice sitting in the Neitherworld's waiting room, where a witch doctor shrunk his head after stealing the man's ticket.

Just like the original, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice combines elaborate studio sets with an array of real filming locations around the world.

Beetlejuice not having any credits scenes wouldn't have been questioned in the late '80s since that trend didn't truly begin until decades after the original movie was released. Granted, Burton hasn't been one to embrace the credits scene trend with his filmography, even when it comes to his more recent movies. With uncertainty surrounding Beetlejuice 3 happening and his involvement, if it does happen, it makes sense why the director kept things simple with Beetlejuice 2. Instead of teasing something that might not pay off, the sequel is keeping the future of the franchise open in other ways.
